Hi! I have know about a stacking men unit feature for some time, it is displayed in this defence by Cecil :]
If you're lazy to look at the map, units are stacked in 1 box or etc. They can also be moved and selected, and attacked and moved. I am pondering on how to do this in triggers, and if it is possible to do the afore mentioned trigger/trick, but the units would be owned by a player. If anyone could help me ASAP, it would be sweet-cakes.
Thanx!
-Btw, I would be asking Cecil, btu he hasnt logged on. In ever.

That may actually not be what you are looking for(maybe it is, didn't check the map), but another method of stacking allows you to move them around on top of each other anywhere, without them trying to unstack, to do it, you place the unit as a disabled sprite(
explained here) and you enable them using the Disable Doodad State trigger in-game, out of site, then order it once, give it at least a wait(0), and then it is stacked if it doesn't crash.
None.
Probably
this is what you're looking for.
Some.
It's disabled unit sprites, which have no collision box when enabled. That means you can only preplace them. Wormer and DavidJCobb showed you ways to stack units, but they can't actually attack (I don't think).
Since falk's site got taken down, If you need help on how to place unit sprites, look them up in the wiki first, and if you still need help, ask in this thread.
nvm back up, it was 404d when I posted.

Thanks guys. But is there any way to have the men units stacked, but with the properties of regular units? Like being able to attack and move freely and being commanded. This would also have to be done in a large amount of space, not forced into a 1x1 box. Any way to do this?
Also, Wormer for your way are those cramped units in the square, are they able to attack?
None.

Lol why hasn't anyone told him about the enable thing before? IIRC it goes like this:
You disable a unit sprite in the editor as explained in some of the links above.
Then ingame you disable the unit, enable it twice, and order it a short distance. No player must have vision to the unit during this process or he will most likely crash. The unit sprite should now be stackable but otherwise work like a normal unit.
You can apply this only to very few units, as the others will crash StarCraft no matter what. Safe units (more or less) are marked with a "3" in this
list.
Hmm. So say I want to do this to a Terran Marine. I have to first put a sprite in ScmDraft and disable it?

The Disable Enable Enable is if you want to
cloak it, to stack it all you have to do is enable it and order it.
And yes, to do it to a marine you have to place a disabled sprite first, which is the main issue with this system, you can't make new ones in-game.
None.
So I can only limit myself to how many disabled sprites I put on the map?
None.
yes, that's correct.

That's a problem. So i guess there's no solution to just making regular units, like firebat, able to stack on top of eachother and attack regularly, but not crowded into 1 square. Right?
None.

Can you use the move command without the sprites unstacking?
if they have not collision box, yes (ie, disabled sprites).
