I'd really like to know if the "X" clue at the end of every letter was actually a clue against me.

No, it was not. Nor were the use of katana a clue against FatalException. As someone correctly pointed out, ninja do not use katana.

A few good clues were cracked, but I give the interpreters full credit for it, and don't consider them "too easy". I don't remember there being any ninja clues at all..

The gas was against me...and the..uhm, I don't remember anything else against me...

i found clues against fatalexception in the beginning and everyone ignored them :(

first off, the mafia couldve found out who the mole was right after inferno posted wat a detective told him (about voting for bbyte)
second off, the mafia kept on killing people from the list of suspects, it wouldve been smarter to kill people who werent suspects. this narrowed the suspect list down a lot so we could easily find out who was mafia

There may not have been any intentional ninja clues (besides what Vrael wrote in his encrypted letter about me coming from the East and slicing/dicing), but all kinds of things could have been attributed to the work of a ninja. For example:
Quote from Day 3
[...] I watched him pick the lock of the house. He disappeared inside, and a few minutes later he emerged, fleeing at top speed. There was a boom, and a cloud of greenish-yellow smoke as something inside the house detonated.
Think of the stereotypical American cinema ninja. Sneaky, fast, and loves smoke bombs.
Quote from Day 5
A mafia leaped over the railing on the porch, stabbing the man before he could even jump in surprise. As the man was dying, the mafia murmured something indistinct, perhaps a malediction or oath of revenge.
Again, sneaky and fast. This time, acrobatics were thrown in. Also, quiet Japanese would sound rather indistinct to an English-speaking listener.

Dear Reader,

Today marked the end of the mafia scourge.

While the town discussed whom to lynch, our sheriff led forward another suspect to the podium. A quick trial, however, assured us that Vi3t-X was in fact not mafia. Absorbed in shame, lil-Inferno returned to his jailhouse, not to be so forward again.

Quickly following, we led FatalException to the lynching block. A swift execution brought him from this world, and the corpse of FatalException sealed our triumph. As we began to celebrate our success, a strange man appeared in the town square, dragging a body. As he approached, we recognized the elusive EzDay281, our faithful Mole. But.. could it be? He was dragging the body of none other than Dapperdan, with a bullet hole through his brain.

At long last, we have triumphed.

Yours truly,
X

Just here for the pie

A winrar is me! I'd like to thank my mom, my dad, my two brothers, my sister, my pet rock, BrontoByte (for hurting me?), random.org, and EzDay281 :).

Also, I never really suspected Vi3t-X :P. I knew he was a shapeshifter, but he was the only person that I didn't 'truly' know the role of.

I'd also like to point out how ridiculously close you guys came to lynching the mole, which just would have been sad. Especially since it was based on the interpretation of the number '2' appearing three times in the night post. :P

This is sort of due to the fact that ninja are sort of well known for killing people at night. :P

Is Anyone hosting Mafia again? If not, I would like to nominate myself to host one for us.

Sep 28 2009, 6:38 am DT_Battlekruser Post #935

I'm hosting if JaFF is busy/doesn't care.

I have a semi-formed Batman theme which would make it SEN Mafia XV: Gotham City.

Provisional Batman (yes, this is a powerful role, but keep in mind there is only one and there will be chaos to compensate):

BATMAN - The bringer of great justice, Batman is capable of enforcing vigilantism through night hits. He begins the game with a total of three night hits, and he may use them whenever he chooses, with a maximum of two hits per night. Every time Batman successfully kills a mafia, he is granted two additional night hits. Batman has three regenerating night lives (i.e. requires three or more simultaneous hits to kill), but is vulnerable to the lynch, the jail cell, and other special roles.

My plan is for the return of the Director role in quantity, plus one or more of each of Doctors, Detectives, Patrolmen (Sheriff variant that can only use Jail), and [maybe] Boondock Saints. There is much blood and mindfuck in Gotham.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless
[2024-5-06. : 5:02 am]
Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value
[2024-5-06. : 5:01 am]
Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Ultraviolet -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
[2024-5-06. : 12:51 am]
Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
