It's a tough decision. The way I see it is the smaller arrows is the logical choice because that is the first thing you notice, however if you observe the image for a moment you notice the small arrows make the shape of a large arrow going to opposite direction of the smaller arrows. From that I choose neither!

Up.

Both first impulse and extended consideration lead me up.

It's obviously up, the most detailed one is the one you should follow, not the general shape it makes.

Down. It's what they seem to add upto. Not everything has to be as it first appeals intuitively.

My senses came first before thinking about which shape all the arrows make. I go up.

Up, because if I DID see that sign, up would technically be the right way to go, since there's no actual outline to show the down arrow. It just seems to form one.

Up becuse when continental plates collide with oceanic plates, the continental plates are usually on top. therefore, i choose to vote for up.
