I noticed a cool anti-hacking trick recently on Miles Lazer Tag ver 100. However i have no idea how this person did the following:
1) A player is suspicious of a maphacker and moves a DT they own to a certain location.
2) Once the DT touches this location all players views are centered on a certain area on the map.
3) If a player is maphacking and sees this area their starcraft drops / / / If you arent maphacking you just see black and starcraft stays open.
-I turned oblivion hacks on so that i could better see what was going on and all that was visible was a moving dragoon, as soon as u see this dragoon, starcraft crashes.
-Since i recently made a "Hide and Seek" map, i frequently find that the seekers are hacking (surprisingly enough....
) So i have a creative anti-hack where if your probe moves when the game starts, u lose all ur units (most hacks have an auto-mine trigger at the begining).
-Although this system works most of the time, i would really like to use the other system i have seen because it works against maphacking which is what i really care about preventing, not spoofing... and most people dont want to turn off their broodwar just in order to play a game....
I attached the map if anybody wants to look at it, i tried unlocking it but that didnt prove successful.

Nah, i am personally a part time hacker.
All the hacks that are out now have illegal sprite detection. There is no use in adding an illegal sprite, because it wont work.
So i cant really think of anything else to remove the hackers, other than a ban system. But even then, the hacker just uses staying alive hack.
I dont know, maybe you should just rm.

Blimmin script kiddies...anyway that probe idea, please remove it from your post befor Zynastor sees and/or it becomes common knowledge.
Red classic.

Zyn knew about it before he even thought of adding it to his map. Zyn knows what you're thinking before you think it.

K. It's a good idea anyway. Is automine turned on by default?

I believe so unless Zyn changed the default config file.

So it might get a fair few that way. Not perfect though, and I bet SOMEONE will get zyn to change the defaults.

it sounds like he just disabled the dragoon, not sure if that crashes the game, but it sounds like whats going on here.....I've found that the 2nd Unused Zerg Building causes the game to crash upon looking at it....it looks like a scout and its 1x1 squares

There are a lot of sprites that will crash Sc. Only problem is, most won't work against Zynastor's maphack anymore.

if you disable units and such, im pretty sure some of them cause map crashes. maybe you can try that?
None.
Yeah, it's turned on by default, it's actually a very good idea.
And I'm not sure what the Dragoon crash is, I know that there are several units still out there that crash when disabled or when you do other odd things to them, just try a few out, perhaps the dragoon is one of them.
None.
It is turned on by default. But once you lose all your units, you would probably regret it because the people that fell victim to this "probe" will stay in the game, spam the finger and drop everyone.
Even then, you can just turn off automine if you know what map has that probe thing.

Correct, just type /automine while in lobby, problem fixed. Most people who play UMS have it off by default anyways.

Here's a few I just thought of
Standard Mapping:- Detect worker automine. (Even though many people might not use it, it will catch those few offguard)
- Spam unit(Nuclear Missile) alert.
- Spam ally alert.
- Auto-queue detection (outside of vision, detect loss of resources??).
- Build anywhere(terrain).

- Detect worker automine. (Even though many people might not use it, it will catch those few offguard) - yeah the /automine.
- Spam unit(Nuclear Missile) alert. - command is /nukealert.
- Spam ally alert. - command is /allyalert.
- Auto-queue detection (outside of vision, detect loss of resources??). - don't use auto queue.
- Build anywhere(terrain). - just don't build where it shows up red.
You got some good ideas but it wont work for everyone and you may fool people to begin with, if that's what your aiming to achieve then yeah it will work for that.

Yeah, fooling people was the point really since there's nothing else you can really do.
There is also anti-hacking triggers...
http://www.staredit.net/topic/8311/It works fine for me, though it drops hack-users, not just maphackers.
