I was wondering how to increase map speed, but still allowing units to automatically target and fire. This was somehow accomplished in undead-unleashed, a map by "haoo". All units automatically fire, while units move and attack much faster. I've seen the posts that tell you how to double game speed, but disable automatic fire. Can anyone tell me how?
None.
In the map it seemed like the only thing that was effected was unit frame speed, not the map speed.
None.
It seems that way at first, but if you look closely all units attack and animate at near double speed. However, they dont actually move from place to place any faster. They definitely do the damage at the rate they animate though.

the only known way to increase map speed is the p15 scarab right now.
"Parliamentary inquiry, Mr. Chairman - do we have to call the Gentleman a gentleman if he's not one?"
(I think) You place a scarab under player 15 in the top right hand corner of the map somewhere. It has to be the first unit that is placed on the map. The First. I am not sure, but I think thats how it works.
I'm only here because they patched SC1 and made it free.

the hell?
i searched wiki for map speed but got no hits...
None.
The wiki is incomplete.
The p15 scarab will increase their speed and attack.
What you want is the p15 map revealer, which only makes the animiations (attack) x2.
I don't suggest you do it manually however. Just use this

Actually, if you're using SCM Draft 2, you don't need to make it in the top left, that was only done because that's where most editors used to assign ID first, SCM Draft assigns it based on placement.

Hm, isn't the p15 interceptor what doubles the map speed for the current SC version? Does the scarab also work?
?????
scarab does same thing, farty changed to interceptor because it sometimes made top left tile unwalkable or something like that.

There were always two ways to increase speed.
One doubled the unit frame rate. In a previous patch it was known to be any unit owned by p13.
The other seemed to make things move at 4x speed. In a previous patch it was known to be an interceptor or scarab for p14. In the current patch, it's an interceptor or scarab for p15.
how are you people finding these things out?!
do you like, go and place units and test them?
None.
someone stumbles upon something interesting while placing a strange unit, then looks into it, and finds unanticipated results. From there, you can figure out WHY it works, then, based on your knowledge of starcraft mechanics, can find out more about the strange effect. That's how extended supply units worked, and how EUDs worked. Disabled units are similar.
In many cases, trial and error is the ONLY way to achieve certain knowledge, mostly in the disabled/unit sprite realm. There used to be a unit which was invisible but gave the arbiter cloak to nearby units.

I downloaded that program and i no longer have any questions. It is totally sweet though.....

Sometimes it's what Rockz said.
Sometimes People have ideas for new concepts.
Sometimes people make a bug, and then they see something cool or notable.

well by accident i would understand.
its just that, who places p15 units? o.o

Has nothing to do with disabled units. Disabled/enabled units' effects can be predicted rather easily (just look at iscript with the old ICE tool).
