Sigh, like all S2 games, this has a serious lack of newbie support. Savage was worse, only because it's much much older, and everyone who plays it is a douche.
This will take me a good 50 games to even begin to figure out what units are what. 42 heros, 4 spells each, and ridiculous amounts of items.

what i did was i created a game and played by myself. i constantly remake to try out different heroes and what they do and on the hero selection screen i spent the whole 2 minutes or so looking at all the heroes.
i can't say i did this with all the heroes but about half. i just wanted to get a feel of how this hero plays and what to look out for when i go against them.
None.

That's how DoTA is too though. Lots of heroes and lots of items, gives you customization and flexibility but a huge learning curve. As long as you get the basics down, it shouldn't be too hard after awhile. I just hope everyone on HoN isn't as big as jerks as people playing pub games on battle.net are.
None.
Just here for the activity... well not really
That's what the SEN players are here for!

Yea. I'm still working on finding my best hero and all that.
Here's a great website that explains all the heroes:
http://heroes-newerth.com/heroesAlso it has guides for items and heroes.
I'm just starting to be OK at the game, and my record went from something like 4-24 to 14-29
None.
Is it worth pre-ordering HoN?
Personally, I think it would be pretty cool. But not that I would need it. I probably couldn't, anyway.
ok, my best hero is officially tempest.
and i just played a game with a guy that was actually good with scout, and wound up getting 18 hk, twice as many as me, who was second best with 9.
so scout can be good, but maybe just because this guy was way mad pro.

I might pre-order. I'll probably leech it off a friend because my birthday is approaching.

I could order it right now but I'd rather wait till I get some more money in my account. I encourage others to order it as well.
No reason not to pre-order it. It's not like it'll cost any different. I've already done so.
None.
Very well then, it still seems WAY too complicated, but ah well.
Account is Whathuh (I think rockz was taken). My best char so far is behemoth, but I'm disappointed that I can't one hit legionnaires anymore. I've also played 3 games, so yeah, take that into account too.
Is there any story behind this, which made Ophelia and Jereziah decide to team up after they decided to completely hate each other?
