HAS A LAME UI, TAKES TOO MUCH SPACE ON TOP
My setup takes less space than IE's default setup. And I can customize it to my needs. Can you do with IE what you see in Heinermann's screeny?
Also get another skin if you're about the looks of the UI. There's a lot of kickass skins for Fx.
I'm not sure how much IE has caught up in terms of usability (e.g. tabs) and customizability (have only icons/bars you need and where you want them) since I stopped using IE since v5.5 but I'm pretty sure Fx is still leading.
I hate when things just install crap without asking, it probably can be disabled but it should be disabled by default or at least ask you if you want to upgrade.
I agree. That is one of things I change whenever I install Fx. I've grown the habit to always change settings of any program I install before I start using it, because standard settings most of the time don't suit my needs.
Btw. in Fx 1 or 2 it was set to "ask" by default but they changed it because of the increasing number of users that have no idea how to properly use computers/internet and thus become insecure when a program bugs them with such "difficult decisions" (it's sad but true!). So they decided to go the safe way and set auto update by default because one can assume if someone changes it in the settings he knows what he's doing and can handle the permission for update dialog or knows the risks of not updating if a security leak has become known.
However it doesn't happen very often that I install Fx and you only have to set it once so that's no big deal and also I never noticed any bad side effects when I did the upgrade. That's a thing I can't say about Microsoft products.
CONSUMES MORE RESOURCES
Note how I have 3 tabs opened on IE and just one on fx and how fx consumes more resources
Note how your claim isn't even true because Explorer != IExplore
I basically use it only for internet exploring, duh, I don't need to be like "OMG FIREFOX SUPPORTS TONS OF ADD ONS SO YOU CAN IMPROVE IT"
Then IE is for you. IE is aimed at average users and fits everyone's needs fairly.
Fx is for power users that use internet a lot and in many different ways. And it's also nice to be able to change skins to your current mood. Also plug-ins are definitely useful. One I can't live without is "Download them All" which can (amongst other things) download embedded videos.
And last but not least, it's not from Microsoft!
EDIT:
Also, I have trouble believing that IE would be where it is today without the competitive pressure caused by Firefox.
