Looking back at The Matrix trilogy, can any of that possibly become reality? I was looking at the other topic we had.. is life a dream? It got me thinking of other possibilites. What do you guys think?

None.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Imo that's totally possible. That's part of what made the trilogy so exciting for me.
Although if you think about it, the effort to create a Matrix is so enormous that it will not be possible. At least not for hundrets of years.

However the same I said in the dream topic applies here. It feels real for me. My actions do have consequences, so what point is there to think about it?

The point is... why can't we learn as rapid as they did. Why can't we move as fast as they did.. (in the movie im referring to.) Why can't "The Matrix" be more visible to the human eye. That is my true question...

Huh? The Matrix is supposed to be a reality simulation. Restricted speed and learning as well as its invisibility is part of the simulation.

They could only have these superhuman abilities once they disconnected themselves from the matrix, and inserted themselves back into it as a new character with improved attributes (simplified).

EDIT: And if your point is "how do I learn these superhuman abilities" then you'll have to learn to wake up and then how to hack the system.
But since the possibility that we all live in a Matrix is highly unlikely trying to devise methods to wake up is just a waste of time imho. I'm a realist. ;)

It's a fine little fantasy. It's also fun to imagine that your toys come alive when you leave the room and go back to rest when you re-enter. But it's extremely unlikely.

Good answer. That's all I have to say about that... (forest gump line.)

Well in the first movie Morpheus asks Neo, "What year is it?" He responds, "1999" Morpheus replies, "Actually we estimate that it is closer to 2199."
So if this is true then it could actually be happening right now since the actual year would be 2209.

Easy so long as the Skyboxes aren't as brutally visible as in the rooftop chase scene on the first movie.

Could be plausible.

Could be plausible that we're 'de-evolved' extraterrestrials, too.

I'd love it, Kellimus, if you would explain what the hell devolved means.

Jesus, it's the same as the dream topic. Yes, its remotely possible, but it doesn't matter since you won't suicide just to find out, there's no way to find out without having some archangel come down and tell you, and etc etc etc. What's the point?

No.

We live in a society.

I don't think it's impossible. After all, 60% of SEN users are actually my bots.

Moose must mean 60% of those 3500 inactive people. Nice accomplishment. But, hey, SEN isn't a particularly advanced simulation of the universe...

YES! The matrix is very possible. Everything is impulses to our brain, so it's impossible for that to not be a possibility. Also, things like deja-vu seem to make more sense using the Matrix theory.
The religion Matrixism is been based on this belief that we could be in the Matrix, or in an artificial world, and makes perfect sense to me.

I understand what makes it 'possible', but I fail to see anything that makes it likely.

It's a pretty stupid argument. It's like the god vs no god argument - neither side can prove that god exists/doesn't exist. It's possible, but practically the chances are so small that there's no point even thinking about it.

We already know.

The entire sen board is just minimoose, you (Yes you who is reading this), and another guy from wisconsin with extremely fast typing speed and with every post his name changes randomly from a list of names from the members list.

Duh.

Exactly the way it happened? No. Because the fields violate the laws of thermodynamics. (The same energy is used to create and sustain humans, is perfectly recycled, and also powers the machines.)
