The point is to find the right one. Chances are if you find too many passages that add to the same possible hint, that it's no clue at all, but part of how the story is written.

FlyingHat was the man to be lynched. They held him down to the ground. The town sharpened a few metal rods. FlyingHat was stabbed repeatedly, all over his body. Blood gushed out of his body as he was speared to death. When he was surely dead, the rods were laid face down in the ground. The body was picked up and lowered on to the rods. The corpse of FlyingHat remained suspended in midair, impaled. While he was not mafia, he would serve as a warning to them. A gruesome example of what town is ready to do to them.
