If you ever lose motivation on this map, you should post your terrain so that people can copy/paste it and be inspired by it!
That's a good reason to do the terrain first.

I think this is the right way to do a map, over a huge long period so you don't get addicted and neglect life :P

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

do u want my tristram terrain?
or why did you want my d1 terrain? :D

I'm planning to implement many things I do not manipulate perfectly so this mean MANY questions to Lethal and Kaias and MANY testing.
Sorry ^^

EDIT: You will now be able to see my progress in triggering via the "Features" quote ("Terrain" one won't change for a while). As you can see, I'm starting with the Spell things. I'll first try to complete my Cast system, them I'll implement the 3 types of spells you can get (projectile/target/Combo) and then, I'll start adapting D2's spells.

It's a great idea. I had this also flying on my mind a couple of years back.

I know alot of creating landscapes with Draft. I started some RPGs myself and I usually lost motivation. :(
I'm really interested in helping you in this project.

If not in ideas, maybe landscapes.
I've started myself to make terrain. If you rather do this alone, I dont mind. Still got some stuff if Im going to start mapping again :)

Very cool, but because I cannot do a bigger map size than 256x256, I HAVE to have all my areas rectangular (and not diamond shaped) to save space... maybe you can adapt those? ^^

I almost finished the "raw" stuff of burial grounds, only the sprites need to be put there and the 2 buildings. I can always edit it again.

There are still some flaws I see, but I can always edit it.
