KILL ME GUYS

How much does village idiot get for being killed?

None.

Nov 1 2008, 2:41 am Greo Post #22

A long time ago, there was once a powerful god known as the Deerwhale. Legend has it that once every year, the Deerwhale attempts to take control of a man to use as a transport vessel. Within days time, the man realizes his fate, and as an avatar of this immortal god of death, uses his power to 'cleanse' mankind, or save it. The Deerwhale knows all too well that it is only a matter of time before the next person is marked, and he has chosen his target. Oh woe to the man who dares tempt fate with the powers of those beyond mortality.

---

Greo sat around in his newly built office, researching about this god of death. Something isn't right, he thought, as he sorted through all of his gathered information. The Mafia were seeking this great power, and he knew he had to do something about it. He stood up from his desk, and after looking through a nearby file cabinet, flung a folder with many pictures on the table, and watched about 17 different pictures spill out. "1, 2, 3, 4... no leads to anyone. Damn," Greo said to himself, jotting down some notes on a notepad, and researching through everyone's trivial information. "I just don't believe this," he said, and brushed his hair with both hands, staring at the pictures for a long time.

Time, however, was not on his side.

The Mafia were fully aware of how close Greo was to the truth. The four burst through the office, and Greo laughed, pressing down a button under his desk. The Mafia attempted to pull out tommy guns, but as soon as they did, they fell to the floor. "You are NOT PREPARED," Greo shouted out, having modified the situation to his favor. With a gun resistant to magnetization, Greo fired once, putting down Devilesk with a single shot, and pulled the trigger again... with no avail. He cursed, remembering that he left his ammo at home and not the office, as the rest of the angered mafia grabbed Greo, throwing him out the five story building and onto the pavement below.

"A general covert operative, that Greo," one of the townspeople said. "He knew all that we may now need to know, but it'd probably be best to work against both this 'god of death' and the Mafia as well." The same townsperson led the others to start a private meeting, all 17 of those within Greo's strange folder. It was time to lynch.

** DAY ONE START **
Townies and other roles, you have 24 hours to vote on someone to lynch / use powers.
If you have not gotten a role PM, clear out some space and I'll send it to you again.

75 or more, depending on how much I have at the time. It'll never be lower than 75.

A few things I noticed...

"I just don't believe this," he said, and brushed his hair with both hands, staring at the pictures for a long time.
I definitely think this is a clue. It seems entirely unnecessary. Perhaps it references a character in someone's avatar or signature that does this frequently.

"A general covert operative, that Greo," one of the townspeople said.
Possibly a clue.

I doubt it. I think that was a role Greo considered putting in, but didn't.

I saw this and searched for all the people with metallic type things in the their signatures/avatars, to try to see who might be weak to magnets. I came up with Oyen, Dark Marine, and Epoch. Oyen's is a robot, which appears to be made out of metal, so that would obviously be weak against magnets. Dark Marine's also appears to be metallic, but I'm not sure. Epoch's was the most convincing though, his avatar is a monitor, and we all know that when you put a magnet near a monitor, it gets fucked up. Just a thought.

i dont think this is a clue, as it is the name of the role greo starts with.

I use a magnet. I have lots of them on my fridge. I think Nuderaider is Mafia.

Right. I like how that even makes sense. My headphones aren't even magnetic.

Are you kidding me?
Most headphones use the moving coil technology - a magnet and a moving coil in an electromagnetic field driving the membrane of the speaker.
Quote from Wiki: Headphones
Moving-coil

The moving coil driver, more commonly referred to as a "dynamic" driver is the most common type used in headphones. The operating principle consists of a stationary magnetic element affixed to the frame of the headphone which sets up a static magnetic field. The magnetic element in headphones is typically composed of ferrite or neodymium. The diaphragm, typically fabricated from lightweight, high stiffness to mass ratio cellulose, polymer, carbon material, or the like, is attached to a coil of wire (voice coil) which is immersed in the static magnetic field of the stationary magnet. The diaphragm is actuated by the attached voice coil, when an audio current is passed through the coil. The alternating magnetic field produced by the current through the coil reacts against the static magnetic field in turn, causing the coil and attached diaphragm to move the air, thus producing sound. Modern moving-coil headphone drivers are derived from microphone capsule technology.

Even if the ones you're using at home use a different technology how would greo know about it? Others are rarely used because their fidelity is inferior.

By denying the fact that headphones use magnets you made yourself my first suspect.
I vote Echo.

Just here for the pie

I vote Echo I guess :-/. And if the Deerwhale doesn't know he is the deerwhale until he uses his ability, how the hell will he ever get to know he is the deerwhale?

Haha yeah now that you mention it. Tbh. I didn't realise myself. But the reason I voted for you was not because of the clue - seems rather weak to me and fits other ppl better - but because you tried to deny an obvious fact.

@lil-Inferno: "The deerwhale is activated on night X." Well I think that implies Greo choses a time when the town has pretty much fucked up already and PMs the respective townie.
