Protecting your Map

I got two Questions, for the first Quesiton, I just need a general answer, but for the second question, I uploaded my Map because I need someone to look at the Triggers.

Okay, first Question. Someone pointed out to me in-game that I should protect my Map so others can't edit it. Can someone explain to me how that is done?
And second, after a player leaves the Game, Bonuses should no longer appear in that player's area, but they do, and it kind of clogs up the map. What can I do to fix it?

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

1. There's plenty of compressors and protectors for maps. Just download one of them (for example from Falkoner's Homepage) and the usage should be obvious.
However there's just as many unprotectors so you can only keep out the average b.net pubbie but nobody who's serious about opening your map. That's why there's not much point into getting the most uber-awesome protection. A basic compressor (a program that shrinkes map size) will do, as they also work as a protection.

That being said I disagree that your map should be protected at all. It's detrimental for the community. Why not let others learn from your map? I, too, started my mapping career by modifying other people's maps when I thought they are great, but need a balance fix or something. (Of course always with proper credits)
And if you're afraid of people "stealing" your map. You don't need to be. Just upload it here and/or make a topic in the map showcase and we will know who the original creator is.

2. I don't know. Can you give more details about what's happening and what should happen and the triggers involved?

That person doesn't know what they are talking about. You don't need to worry about protection; map thefts or retarded modifications rarely have an effect on how a map spreads, and if they do, it will most likely be negligible. I don't protect my maps, and I know a lot of mappers who do the same.

But if you are still interested in protecting your map anyways, check out the link that NudeRaider posted.

Basically a user brings a Bonus Unit to a beacon and it creates 5 Bonus Units in each player's starting area. When a User has been defeated, the Bonus Units should stop appearing in that player's starting unit, but they still appear there. I'm wondering how I can prevent that.

Have the trigger owned by the respective player (that left/died). Absent players can't run triggers.

If it's an All Players / Forces trigger, use "Current Player" brings ... in the condition.

Use tinymap to compress the map. It has an unintentional side-effect of protecting the map. Any map can be easily unprotected, however.

However, I agree with nude on protection. You can use uBeR@TiOn which will compress the map, but still leave it editable.

You can either get a Virtual Korean Windows XP and use CMP Debugger 1.72 in that, or you can use TinyMap which can be unprotected but it doesn't crash MAC users and is also enough to keep the ultimaretards off.

TInyMap2 should be out in a month or so, and currently it crashes almost every unprotector, or at least messes up the map. Also, you can try Starcraft Map Cracker's protection, which is able to beat the major unprotectors, including itself(requires password), also, I apologize for my website, Google transferred it over to GooglePages so you have to download each HTML page by clicking their link..
