I'm not sure if this belongs in this section, so don't warn me plz.
The map maker that influenced my mapping career was the Bound author that went by the name of Red2Blue.

Why you say? I was new to map making when he was releasing his maps, and I was appalled at all the neat features his maps had for their time. I was so intrigued as to how he did them, that I began to mess with the map editor, and my career began.

There are, of course, many others out there, but none influenced my overall sc career like R2B did.

:payne:

Since it seems like I am mostly a terrainer, I'd say WoodenFire and qPirateKing are my biggest inspirations.
qPK also influenced me over the overall aesthetic I set in my maps.
In terms of triggers, I do not have much influence... Lethal learned me a lot and Kaias fixed losta stuff of my own, but I am not sure if we can determine how we organize our triggers.
If ever I could have an influence over other people, it would be the usage of Switch even when I can use DCs and the fact that all my trigger actions has the comment at the end and the preserve trigger right over. You won't see a single trigger from me not having this characteristic >.<

EDIT: Funkapotimus also inspired me to work over impossible projects ;o

what bounds has he made? Alot of old school ones?

My biggest influence is probably Mutilated-Puppet the maker of the Alone in The Dark series. Especially for its time, and even now they're some of the best horror maps ever made, and they inspired me to start making horror maps. Theres alot of other random ones but I'd say hes the biggest.

Oh and also whoever made B.net Experience that forever sent me down the road of making movie maps :D

I thought Yos...oh wait.

My biggest influence is whoever made Invasion Earth RPG, that basically got me into map-making, as I basically copied the whole map in the first map I've ever tried creating. :P

Lethal_Illusion, surprised he wasn't mentioned yet. I was inspired to learn all the advanced stuff after playing his maps.

Foxwolf1 was the first map maker I met, which was a long time ago. I think he influenced me to start mapping. Then I met LoN)Fury2, who furthered my interest.

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

(U)Bolt_Head, KcKryptonite, SoftwareWolf, Tuxedo-Templar, 3, qPirateKing, Vic, MillenniumArmy, Kenoli.

Among others.

I was really influenced by early (U) maps or a lot of the stuff coming out of TeamSE, before most of our member were aware of SC or SC map making (it seems).

Having mapped for over a decade, I've picked up a lot from a variety of sources.

The Blizzard mapping team had a big influence. I still use an adapted version of their text formatting to this day.

I learned a lot from projects on Campaign Creations.

Legend of Magi was the first RPG map that I felt truly had production values. I started abusing doodads shortly thereafter.

Everything else came from my incredible brain.

I kinda had a seperate Inspiration for each map I made....

So... that would be: Kyuubi. , ShizTheresABear, MillenniumArmy (smwhat), Kenoli, Oo.Solar.oO, whoever made Firebat Tag, and Icefrog for his WC3 masterpiece.

Tho this is completely different from my fav mappers... which'd be MA, Tuxedo_Templar (for Rush n Galactic Gunnerz), and (U)Bolt_Head (for House of the Haunted)

Thnx guys :D

My influences weren't mappers so much as a wide sampling of eccentric outside sources. Probably why all my shit never fit the mold of proper UMS maps.

I'm a terrible influence. :P

I am trying to reverse that a bit now, though, since I'd like to do at least one decent thing that actually does fit the mold for a change. Sorta.

Then I'll go back to raeping breaking it. :P

This is true, Tuxedo-Templar should be no one's role model. He brought us this, after all.
