Autumn Map Making Contest

Theme:
The theme of this contest is about villains. Most maps follow the role of the players being the hero or protagonist, so let�s change that for this contest. The type of map is up to you, as long as it follows the role of villains. Maybe someone can make a reverse role based on an existing story, but that wouldn�t go well with originality.

Deadline:
The map is to be submitted by September 30th, at 11:59 pm GMT-5. Any map submitted after will not be accepted. PM the map to me, and I suggest you do it few days before the deadline.

Rules:
-Any map dimension is allowed (As long as it works)
-Any number of players is acceptable
-No maps over 1MB (1024 kb)
-Do not steal and submit a map. It must be your own work!
-No modded maps allowed. This is a mapping contest.
-The map must not be made before the contest.
-Maximum of two people per map. (If you work in a team, I will expect it to be twice as good)
-Feel free to ask for trigger help in the UMS Mapmaking Assistance
-You may submit as many maps as possible, but only the highest scoring entry will be submitted.

Judging Criteria:
Theme: 10 points
Like all the other contests, any map that does not follow the theme will be disqualified.

Professionalism: 10 points
Testing and fixing errors is important. If you don�t put any effort into your map, I won�t be putting any effort in grading it. Remember to double check your map for spelling, grammar, and other errors.

Originality: 10 points
Be innovative. Try to include new ideas/concepts, or even create a whole new genre of map.

Fun: 20 points
For this contest, fun is what would matter the most. If it has no fun, why would anyone even bother to play the map again?

Total: 50 points

-First, second, and third place entries will all go into the Map Spotlight on the front page.

Judge:
The map�s score will be determined by the average score of the judges.

This looks fun, but I doubt a lot of the really good mappers will take place in this contest, since they've still got the Last Stand contest to worry about.

That's an RPG contest and this is only 1 month.

I'm just gonna revive an old map. It will be pretty old school, so it won't be much work. And it fits the theme perfectly. But TLS still has priority.

Only maps that have been started after joining this contest will be valid.

Ughhh. Ah well I was redoing 90% of it anyway, I'll just start from scratch.

The villian killing the good guy in a non "tank with sharks with friggin laserbeams" type of way should make you instantly lose, right?

Sure. They can be Robot dinosaurs that shoot laser beams when they roar too.

Hmmm this might be really fun. I'm in. I hope I have the motivation to finish in time.

I'll think about this. School starts in one day but still...mmm mapping contest.
Edit: I should make a map where you a hero but in the end you're really a villain, PLOT TWIST. except everyone would see it coming.

Count me in for now but I have no idea if I'll be able to finish, I'll go for a smallish map to increase the chances of that happening.

But...if I don't finish, I'll look like a fool. heh, okay, sign me up then. The worse that could happen is that I couldn't finish the map, which isn't new to me.

Don't sweat it. I've entered plenty of these contests, and most of the time I didn't finish, so I have plenty of uncompleted maps in my computer. Not to encourage people to leave their maps unfinished though.
