6k, 60k, same thing
there are a ton of changes. they changed the aura tooltip for hammerstorm so now its not awesome. and glacious switched sides!
my best hero is most definietly predator.

I like the Staff of the Master changes, makes it more viable for more heroes and it's easier to build. Except for it completely ruins the Obsidian Destroyer in DotA, but oh well.

OK I won't be on till next weekend but can someone give me some tips on how to start playing? Like what's a fairly easy hero to start as, what items to go for etc.

I can vounch for ARK, he is a good guy and most likely a good player. even though he has only made 2 posts on SEN, he is not one of those guys who just joins for keys or something like that

just look at your profile, now there are three.
my suggestion for beginning items (very general, not specific to certain heroes):
2 crushing claws/mark of novice/duck boots (depending on wat kind of hero you chose)
2 minor totems
1 set of Runes of Blight
1 mana potion
then good mid game all around items:
whispering helm (life steal)
sustainer (hp and mana regain)
then more all around good end game items:
wingbow
behemoths hart
hack n slash
these items are beginners items cause they dont require that much to be able to use them well

I just got 29 assists with the Dark Lady, haha. Seriously, agility hero with 4 active skills? That's like, crazy.

2 crushing claws/mark of novice/duck boots (depending on wat kind of hero you chose)- +3 strength/inteligence/agility
2 minor totems- +1 of each ability
1 set of Runes of Blight- for healing
1 mana potion - for healing mana
whispering helm- 15% life steal per attack
sustainer- more hp and mana regain
wingbow - 30% evasion for attacks. +30 each ability
behemoths hart (only really good for tanks) - very good HP regeneration rate, the more hp you have, the more it heals you (1% of total hp per second)
hack n slash - faster attack, movement, more damage, more strength, all around good item
for mana using heroes, good items are like hellflower, which gives you a big mana regen bonus
and for good damage dealing heroes, runed axe is good, it gives your attack a splash bonus
None.
Behemoth heart is good for any heroes not just tank. Agi heroes usually don't need itthough because they have the DPS and lifesteal to heal faster than the heart can regen, but having about another 1000 hp doesn't hurt either :]
and beginners items
you should go with regen items so you don't die as much, there's new items in this new patch.
you should use the Logger's Hatchet VERY GOOD ITEM FOR MELEE HEROES not so great on range.
with the logger's hatchet melee heroes gain 32% damage to nonhero and range gains 12% i think. this makes last hitting a lot easier!

is loggers hatchet a new item? how much does it cost
EDIT: a cool new item for cheap healin and stat boosting is power supply
