Does anyone know the relationship between real seconds to game seconds when playing on "fastest"?
I want to make a trigger that, if the player beats the map in under 10 minutes (real time), gives them a little text message. The problem is I don't know how many game seconds that corresponds to. Any help?
I saw one estimate online that would put it at x1.12, but I'm really skeptical the difference is that small.
None.
Eight death counts (.666... seconds) is equal to a game second.
Twelve death counts (1 second theoretically) is equal to a real life second.
480 deaths is a game minute.
720 deaths is a real life minute (theoretically).
4800 deaths is 10 game minutes.
7200 deaths is 10 real life minutes (theoretically).
This can be
easily tested in under two minutes. Get a stopwatch and make the 2 or 3 triggers required and test it out yourself.
4. Run simple tests yourself. If it takes less than two minutes to make an example map and find your answer, do that instead of posting.
None.

Thanks! Is this with or without hypertriggers?

I was hoping there was a known conversion factor. I can get close with a stopwatch, but if I want to do something that would display a text message after an hour, then minor computing errors would be severe.
None.
It's with hyper triggers. You really shouldn't ever have to make a map without them as they're necessary in modern maps.
If precision is really what you're looking for, then you can't just use 12 death counts per second, as the actual number (done by my own testing some time ago) is around 11.4943 (1000 deaths in 87 seconds).

I'm not a master of searching, but I searched for "game seconds" and this came up on the first page. Granted it helps I remember posting it...
Oh, and it's 16 frames per game second always. So the actual game:fastest ratio is 24/16, which is 1.5. I'm still not convinced that SC actually runs at 24 fps though.

Thanks. 1.5 looks to be right. This topic is done.

you missed fast.
1.5 Fastest
1.3125 Faster
1.125 Fast
0.9375 Normal
0.75 Slow
0.5625 Slower
0.375 Slowest
I also just tested out the normal speed, and that's about right. It took 2:08 real time to go 2 minutes game time.
