I'm using the scarab patrol method to attack with scarabs, but they just endlessly patrol sometimes and do not attack units! O_O

1. Center a 1x1 tile location on your hero or the point where you want the scarabs to appear from
2. Move the computer-owned scarabs from the location you get them to the 1x1 tile location
3. Run Junkyard Dog AI script at the 1x1 tile location

If they're not attacking all enemy units (enemy to the comp owning them), either you're doing something wrong or some other triggers break the system.

Junkyard dog does not have the effect I want, they are set to patrol to a target location of a nearby unit. Does the location have to be a 1x1 tile? It is but I don't see why it would need to be 1x1. They sometimes attack the enemy units, but other times they just get stuck in an endless patrol from the target location to hero's firing position.

It's a 1x1 tile location, because as JaFF has said in a prior topic:
Quote from JaFF
The location you run JunkYard Dog at must be as small as possible, because the scarabs tend to attack targets that are outside the location.

That's all good but junkyard dog is not what the effect I'm wanting. They should move in a targeted location on top of enemy not randomly. :C

You can try first runnig patrol, waiting for a bit, then running Junkyard Dog. Although that is a bit vague and in some situations impossible. I don't know what effect thiw will have, it's up to you to experiment with it.

If you want them to attack enemies in a specific region, you can give all enemies in that region to a special computer player which the scarabs target, then run Junkyard Dog. This will not remove the randomness completely, but provided that the enemies you wish to target are close enough to your hero, most of the scarabs should attack them.

Actually you need to run AI Script "Random Suicide Missions" or "Strategic Suicide Missions" (i forget which) in that 1x1 Tile Location over your hero/weapon/whatever.

Edit: Oh im sorry you want them to all go to once place... Eh... I have never done that myself. It just might be possible if you make a location on the enemy target and use AI Script "Set Generic Command Point" or something like that. Just make a test map, 64x64 jungle, a few locations, a few reavers constantly getting their scarabs refilled, around a 9999hp/255armor enemy building, and give yourself a beacon or siege-able tank to trigger the scarab attack.

Yeah maybe I wasn't specific in the current method I am using. I am using set generic command target and the make units patrol this location scripts. I already have a test map of course.. :P
