I just found one of my old maps. Its a LotR map, I think I remembered people around here hated them, but I don't care. Some cool terrain in there regardless.
Woodenfire helped me alot, so thanks to him. Dunno if he is still around though.
I also included
some pics of a map that I just got tired of. Pretty cool also, dunno how it compares to todays terrain though.

I must admit, I am impressed! that first one was by-far the best, love the temple blending done in it.
Do you mind if I add the map to my terrain compilation?
None.
I disagree... It feels like a bunch of stolen blends mashed together. Plus I recognize the fourth pic from someone else I think... second and third are improper height.
The first has new stuff though, but the cliff/temple walls don't match heights when it changes from grass to ruin, a quick fix?
Edit:
I guess if wf helped you maybe thats where I recognize the 4th from

WF made pretty much every ramp imaginable in jungle so it's no surpize that it looks familiar.
Go ahead and add the map if you like, it never really got played because my hosting ability is none existant.
Heres another pic.
And another:
I made the top high temple part many ages ago, can't remember if I borrowed the high grass one or made it. Pretty sure someone else made it.

That temple blip from the first pic is strait out of CD. But the other stuff looks good. (maybe fix the bottom right 2 tiles cause they can be fixed uber quick) I haven't seen the temple from the second, so thats good, but the grass isn't isom??

Terraining is more about layouts and how you use blends, then just inventing new ones...

Terraining should be like taking a shit... but on a map with the tileset index. At least that's the way it is for Wooden.

The very first pic in ur first post does the weirdest thing to my eyes on how they interpret depth. I've never had a terrain blend have that effect on me, so kudos.

Whoa you are still around huh? Did you ever finish Crecent Dyne? That was the most amazing stuff ever...
I geuss I do have a depth problem, I'll have to look intho those.

No I was saying it's awesome. Why would you want to get rid of something that no one else has been able to do.

No, he never finished Cresent Dyne.
I like all of those pics, but the they are sometimes blocky, like there is no temple-ruins to high dirt blend.

The terrain is done. He even made a website for it with members and every thing... Built it up a ton and abandoned ship.

Hey Adam, I think I played your map before. Or at least downloaded it. Anyway, the first one's awesome, but the cliff corner on the bottom right is kind of blocky while looking cool at the same time. The other three aren't that amazing; the second pic needs some cluttering with doodads (ie. grass doodads or grass patches) because it looks very plain. I think bone doodads would work nicely. Eh, the third and fourth pictures aren't too special; the third one really just looks like a terrain fart; not really well placed or layed out.
The next picture (the one with the temple and the missing tiles in the bottom right that Jello is being OCD about) is pretty good. Needs cluttering. The cliffs are kind of weird though. They go up facing one way, and descend facing another way. Maybe you should try to make it look more like a mountain edge rather than the top of cliff edge.
