I thought it might be interesting to see how the membership of SEN changes with the advent of SCII, so how about a page on SEN that updates daily and records the people who joined each day, along with average joins per day from day x to day y?

Not really needed, just seemed like it would be interesting to see what affect SCII has. And I don't think this'd be particularly hard.

I like it, but I don't see sen having any added functionality anytime soon.

Go to the members page, it shows how many members we currently have. Then just keep track of how many members have joined from today, to maybe the first week of sc2 release. We know this site will grow with the release of sc2, that is, as long as SEN devotes itself to sc2.

Or, StarCraft devoted.
After all, it is just an appended name.

Site needs to be decent for SCII. A DLDB that works, the PM system fixed, and a few minor tweaks to beautify. It would appear that IP is chasing a butterfly around america again, he'll be back once he's caught it.

Cent, just count.

Centy isnt the only one who would like this. Statisitics are fun to look at

Make a group/ Clan and post statistics.

Hello

I'm not sure if many players will join SEN when SC2 (finally..) comes out...
it's not like battle.net or blizzard is advertising for SEN, so how should they know that staredit.net exists?
"A member tells a friend of SEN" method wouldn't increase the active members average on SEN.

As long as map makers continue to exist, then SEN will continue to exist. We don't need to advertise the site much, they'll willingly join SEN. We could turn SEN into a big production. So people know the good maps come from SEN users.

... the statistics page I described could probably be finished in two hours or so. Maybe in as little as twenty minutes, if its simplified. There's quite a difference between that and completely new functionality..

Shocko, make your own DLDB.

Centreri, make your own statistics page.

See, you can't do that. That's the equivalent in this tête-à-tête of Shocko's 'Centreri, just count'. Now, I could say something like 'Write down the addresses to all the files in your dream DLDB on a piece of paper' to counter it, but that sounds bad and is unnecessary. Now, shoo. If you can't contribute, no spammage.

Vrael was right, and you contradicted yourself.

A) You ask for statistic page, I tell you count. You tell me to make a DLDB, Vrael tells you to make the statistics page. These were the equivalents.
B) You claim statistics page could take no less than 20 minutes, no more than 120 minutes, but yet I'm told to code something infinitely harder?

If it is so easy, why cant you do it... and if DLDB is so hard, why do you make me do it?

No, they were not equivalents. My statistics request was not directed at you and is not part of this... 'game'. And the thing Vrael did was the simple continuation of the idiotic 'game' to which the logical reply would've been for you to write down the DLDB on a piece of paper. I don't need this topic spammed by people telling each other to solve SEN's problems instead of going to Administrators.

Yes, dumbass. Because me coding a statistics page isn't particularly viable, as I have no experience with SEN's database, with anything relating to coding SEN. And without that, it's just as hard (read: very hard) to code both a statistics page and a DLDB.

I hope I already answered that question.

If you don't want people's opinions on the matter, then don't publicly post it. Instead, message an admin.
You yourself are spamming this forum.

Since when is 'make it yourself' an opinion? Opinions are fine. I didn't tell anyone off for saying 'I don't really like this idea because..' or 'It's a good idea, but I think that even with the relative complexity, starcraft-related things should come first'.

Senv4's old statistics page, I made it. It was sexy. I'll definitely redo it.
Maybe I'll do it first because I've been waiting to do it forever now and the fun of a new script would ease me back into coding more serious shit.

You guys get $5.83 daily from ads? You're doing this for the profits, aren't you!

Also, yay for dropping hits.

We live in a society.

I'm not sure why it says that considering we don't have any advertising. And if we were making that money, the site would never have gone down that time when IP's credit maxed. :P
