Well ok where do i start... ?

I visit this website now for some time not long though, in relation to the time i play starcraft...

First maybe a little about me and my sc experiences i was and i am something between a noob and a not noob.
The word pro doesnt describe it, i play for more than 10 years now, but i´ve never been really good in any map, i was always under the top 50%.

That has some advantages and some disadvantages. I dont wanna talk about the disadvantages cause you know.
I wanna talk about the advantages. I can still see the starcraft world like a noob. I hope.
So how do i connect know what i wanna say about the site ?
Well i think it should be more Noob friendly...

If i come here cause someone told me to do so, i think what i want is to dl a real good map that rocks my starcraft world.
I dont care if it is new, or belongs to some guy that made thousand maps and just wants to prove that he is good with mapmaking skills or something, i just wanna download a nice map and play it. And i think that is missing.

When you come this days on the side you can read about a mod ( i havent tried),
- the mapmaking contest winter (ok that map was fun)
- the mapmaking contest 2009 (unfnished maps...)
- a high resolution mod ( which is great if it would work )
- patch 1.161 ( yes there is a new patch the first time i read about what a patch does was after like 5 years sc gaming)
- the newest maps and mods.

Of course its interesting to see what new maps are on sen but i just wanna be the noob eyes again...
so i dl the new map ... it can be a bulls eye and i really find a nice map, but i think in most cases its not.
Its an upgrade to an existing threat still in beta and with lots of bugs and much to hard to play for me the Noob.

I will never come back.

Maybe you dont want them come back but what i have seen so far there is a nice database with good maps.
And there are some fucking ugly bad maps too...
Why not promoting some good maps randomly on the start page, i think some maps just deserve it to be positioned in a special place, while others should be hidden forever.

Of course that needs some hand work and you can not just add the newest map on the portal, but i really think it would make the page more interesting, exspecially for noobs and none experienced sen visitors.
And if you see it from the other side, the map maker side, how nice is it having your map positioned on the startpage....

You can make a set of a few maps that deserve to be in and randomly place them for 1 Day as the featured map or something like that. And to make it easy work for you you can let people suggest maps that should be in there.
I am sure you will have a lot of nice ideas yourself if you wanna go with it, its just what came to me over the time i was visiting this site.

Ok thats it, i will be happy to get any replies on this and have a look on it soon to reply on the replies.

I must add that i am not american and my english is not perfect, i try my best but if something is missunderstandable than just dont missunderstand it. XD

I actually agree with this a lot, it took me a couple days of using this site to find the DLDB, noobs need quick and easy. This would increase the usage of these forums and we could convert more noobs to decent map makers, or even amazing ones.

Firstly, don't sign your posts.

Secondly, you're confusing noob and newb. We don't want noobs. Fuck noobs. Newbs are fine. And yes, SeN is a little convoluted in design. But... Eh... You get used to it?

It's not like there's a lot of exciting happenings or tonnes of new people getting into the world of SC.

I will repeat and summarize what I have been saying for a long time:
SEN is messy and needs to be cleaned up. It has some broken features that need fixing, some areas that need organizing. However, no matter how unhappy I am with it, there is not, and doesn't seem like there ever shall be, a better place to go.

I was about call out all the other SC sites I know of and how they don't have some things SEN does. But I've said that all before, I've made my opinions of those places very clear. SEN may not be as organized or categorized as I'd like it to be, but considering my current alternatives, I wouldn't rather be anywhere else.

I often think 'is there a better site I should be visiting instead of SEN?' However, that's closely followed by 'Nah'. SEN as pointed out is messy, incomplete, not newb friendly, slow progress and bugged out. But I don't think i'd find another site that makes me lol as you all do! I will thank [MM], CAFG and moose for that. On topic though. Do a rating system like Newgrounds? Just improved so they put a reason for rating it, not a review though. But maintain the rate it once a day Then have a list...

I think a rating system would be a great idea. As for the rest of the site, yea its messy, but it takes all of 5 minutes to figure it out.

Aw it's nice to know you visit sen because there's nothing really better.

There'll probably be a million new sc2 sites when it finally launches. It is definitely my goal to make sen the best out of all of them. And you know, I could use help... images... layout changes... tweaking farty's program (or at least, helping me to understand it 100% so I can change it myself)...

We're going to need a sc2 banner.

Classic skin banner has both SC and SCII.
