So, the Dragonball movie is set to release April 8th, 2009, and I have to say, despite what clearly looks like a b*tch slapped story and cheesy take on the whole thing, I am kind of excited!

I really have no clue why. I mean, was a huge DB/Z/GT fan, but watching the trailer alone brought back the clouds of seeing the Resident Evil trailer for the first time. Like, "Yay, that game is being made into a movie!" and then you think about it and, "That game is being made into a movie.." Well it was the same deal watching this trailer. "Omg, this looks so awesome!" mixed with a whole lot of "Wait, what?"

I can see what they are trying to do, and it is not exactly easy to pull it off without changing the entire basic concept of the characters and story for everyone to understand. Really though, what is the deal with Bulma packing some heat? Honestly. If you ever watched the show you know that the guys with guns always fail at what they are trying to do. The whole blowing up an entire city in a single blast, however, is classic DBZ right there.

I do not really know what to think on this one. I am excited to see the movie to fulfill the child in me, but am also simultaneously bending over getting ready to be raped by a god-offal story. Although, I am rather easily entertained, and the movie probably will not effect me as much as others.

I agree. Bulma was never kick-ass she just stayed in that house crying about goku not dieing. (or at least that's what I remember)

I loved how this was Dragonball and not the garbage 10 episode build-up beefcake fest that is Dragonball Z. But when I saw the trailer a couple weeks ago I was disappointed that they butchered the story. The character design, and pretty much everything else they could have done to ruin it they did. The only redeeming quality is Chow Yun Fat and even he can't make a bad movie good.

Just another garbage movie I'm not going to see.

Same. Looks like an even lamer Forgotten Kingdom. I mean, it was so built up because it had Jackie Chan and Jet Li and was complete crap. And this looks like the exact same thing.

I am seeing this movie, and I am going to mentally change the character's names.
The Dragonballs are now Lizardspheres. The soundtrack shall be my MP3 player full of AC/DC tracks. Everyone's face is going to be a text emote, just to go the extra mile.

It will be the best damn ego trip evar!

The makers of this movie really should do that stuff. This isn't even Dragonball... It's a stupid teen movie with 7 glowing balls.

This movie needs the OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!! scene IMO.

But if you do, all of the tabloids will be like, "DRAGONBALL: BIG SUCCESS AT THE BOX OFFICE!", leading everyone else to think that it's a good movie!
