In general PE is okay and can be fun with the right class and teacher, but my PE class last year sucked because my class was huge, they were all nonathletic, and my teacher sucked.

PE is easy at my school. It's full of geeks cause I go to a math and science school, and I'm one of the fastest.

I love PE, unless your entire class is a bunch of idiots who can't actually try.

Yeah PE rules if your in a class with people that actually try. For me it's usualy just a class to fool around and play with friends.

In general, I've had a horrible experience in mandated PE classes, but mainly because I have had teachers who don't care about their classes and don't make anyone try. I can say that doing certain PE units (like weight training) made marked improvements in my physique that I would probably be too lazy to affect otherwise, but I certainly didn't enjoy it by any stretch of the imagination.

I love PE.
It's not even all that bad with the lazy kids - I just do my best to go around them. It doesn't get annoying until they start doing crap like damaging the machines.
/me's annoyed at how two of my favorite lifts have recently been messed-up beyond practicality...

I'm split on this one. On one hand, I love volleyball and basketball (and am not bad at them), but on the other hand I hate acrobatics we must do.

In general, the sports lessons for me suck because we have 2 sports lessons one after another at one day, and then you gotto sit through 3-4 more lessons. In conclusion, I'd prefer to run every second morning (like I do now) and do nothing at school.

My two high school PE teachers so far, A and B, are people I just cannot get along with.

A's class I had three friends, Keith, Carlyn, and Julie. Keith and I basically hung out and did nothing. I wound up failing and Keith just barely passed. Also, this guy was pretty much racist. He confused my name with the other Indian kid's name ALL the fucking time, and this other kid, completely FOB, had a thick accent and the other kids would mock him all the time. They'd make fun of him and his name by just shouting Rahul whenever he did something like make a basket or score in volleyball, and they'd just laugh at him, and this guy, Mr. Augusta, who BTW looked like Jesus, would actually do the same thing.

So yeah, me and Keith did nothing and Carlyn and Julie actually did well in the class. So Augusta takes them aside and tells them not to hang out with me, because I'm a failure and will drag them down. Earlier in the class he said the same shit to Keith before it became apparent that he's as apathetic as I am.

B's class was summer school. Because of the stuff I said in class about the government and also because of the doodles I do on my papers, he filed a police report because he thought I was threatening his children.

ROFL.

So I'll just wait and see what happens this year.

I like PE generally, but the environment where we have it at my current school is kinda bad, making me dislike it :(
I also have to walk 15 minutes (+/-) to get there, cause I don't have a bus card and I don't wanna spend 17 NOK on that crappy bus.

PE is dumb, we dont have it at our school except for 7-8 graders, 9-12 is required to have an activity such as field hockey, soccer, news paper, x-country, basket ball, independent (make your own and do it on your own time with exceptions of course), etc.

I think it's useful, not neccesarilly for me, but there are tons of people who could use it if the whole process of it was refined, and actually made people excercise, etc. but it ends up having people who need the work out not enjoying it, and then selling themselves short or not doing the work. At my school, if you do two or more sports a year, you can get a waiver, so that's what I did, because I didn't want PE taking up my schedule time. However, last year I had to take Pool class(which was alright, it was cool being the best swimmer in the class =D)and Health.

Meh, to me PE is ok. It keeps you in shape and in good health. Since most kids, teenagers and others of the americas are so fat theres a reason why they make PE so hard and rigorous. Those people deserve to run 12km a day.

PE is useless to me, I'm already athletically in shape.

I like PE... I just hate it because its so farken hard to get an "A" I mean you have to be some kind of hard-core athelete to get an A. Heck the standards they set are inhumane. Even the School records didn't meet an A.

None.

Sep 17 2007, 2:26 pm DT_Battlekruser Post #20

What on earth are your standards?!?

We have pretty tough standards too (6:45 mile is an A - but then the school record is like 4:08), but the teachers don't even care. If they like you, you get an A, simple as that.
