Who programs on ti-83 calculators for fun? i made a text based rpg in my 1st block today. Does anyone know how to download the ti-83 OS onto a computer so you can use it at home? (i have a graphing calculator program... but i want a ti-83 program so i can play with its programming
)

I once wrote a text adventure engine. It didn't work to well, but I could have finished it except my calc got stolen.

TI calculators suck balls, I had a Casio, and it was easy to navigate, I could program it. I ended up having to switch because schools only teach how to use TI's, so it was too difficult to figure things out while he showed them exactly how to do it.

Really?? You like Casio? I'm partial to TI but that might only be because i know how to use it. I made a text based rpg that was really mediocre, a bunch of formulas and stuff for chem and math, and a couple cannon and snake games, but nothing too intense. I even had help on the cannon and snake games so idk if I can count them as my own lol. As of know i'm working on a multi variable text cipher/decipher program, but progress is slow lol. But you have to do it on the computer if you want them to run well. Ever play Block Dude for ti83? That game is mah favorite.

Casio >> TI when it comes to engineering. But then again, you can just grab an 89 after you take all your tests. Of course, by then you should be using matlab, excel, and autocad to solve all your problems.
You can get a ti-83 emulator off the TI website. If you want to download some games, you'll need a serial/usb input from your computer. I recommend galactica, phoenix, gemini, and maybe a few others that have come out after years of me not caring anymore, since I don't have any math left.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
That calculators are bad because you don't really keep in mind how you would calculate things without it.

BTW, tetris was the best game on my Ti Voyage.
I found out how to pull marbles out of a bag on my friends calculator once.

I just found that the Casio was much easier to navigate and find things in, as I was able to move faster in learning how to use my calculator than most of the class, even with the teacher guiding them through each step, while I figured it out, I just had difficulty finding one thing and I was messed up after that.

All else I know of is some cleaning up on some of the operations, there were some sloppy things the 83 did in graphing that 84 fixed up.

a friend has the calculator and he gave me a usb flash drive with the program on it. ftw! i have started a very general rpg. i want to get some drawings and graphics incorporated though.
