SYNOPSIS

The Cap'n won't let his Pirates drink Grog. Obviously, this is a fundamental part of who Pirates are, and they are not happy. You can use this to your advantage.

Your job is to collect ingredients from around the Hold, dump them into a barrel, and set a fire under the barrel to distill the mix. Let it distill for a while, then stop the fire and the Grog will be ready.

When you have a brew of Grog ready, you'll take some to the Pirates abovedecks. If they like the taste, they'll join you in the Hold, where you can serve them anything you want.

But be warned: If you're carrying Grog, you can't drop it, or else the Cap'n will see it. You either have to feed it to the Pirates... Or drink it yourself.

HOW TO WIN & LOSE

If the Pirates get happy enough, they will set you free. If they get angry enough, they'll revolt against the Cap'n and keep you on as their own personal distiller.

If the Cap'n catches you in his cabin, he'll make you walk the plank. If he catches you drunk, he'll make you walk the plank.

HINTS

- Experiment. Lots of things are possible.
- This overview is not comprehensive. It's more fun to discover things yourself.
- Being drunk is fun.

HOW TO MAKE GROG

1. Pick up desired ingredients.
2. Walk to an unoccupied barrel. Drop ingredients in barrel.
3. Kill the spider mine by the barrel to start a fire.
4. Wait.
5. Kill the spider mine again to stop the fire.

The Grog is now ready to be picked up and served. Or drunk.

To give pirates a taste of your Grog, go to their hangout (the doorway by the bow) and drop some by them. If they're in the Hold, you can serve them your Grog by dropping it in their circle.


INGREDIENTS

There are six kinds of objects lying around the ship that you can distill. There is no limit to how many objects you can throw in your brew. But keep in mind that if it's too weak, or too strong, the Pirates won't want to come to the hold.

Some ingredients are stronger than others. Some ingredients are Happy-type, some are Angry-type, and some are unknown.


MORALE

In order to affect Pirates' morale with Grog, you must get them at least 25% drunk.

During the DAY, if the Cap'n notices the Pirates are missing too long, he'll check the Hold. Needless to say, the Pirates won't be happy about this.

During the NIGHT, the Pirates are free to do as they please. But if the Cap'n catches you abovedecks at night, he'll put you in the Cage. Hide from him behind the mast.

If you show up VERY DRUNK abovedecks, the Pirates will love you.

FOR FUTURE VERSIONS:
- Consequences if the Cap'n comes to the Hold and sees a barrel on fire.
- Add punishment for Players when Cap'n finds Pirates drinking in Hold.
- Possibly change control panel to Starport (closer hotkeys).
- More strategic placement of ingredients.
- Smooth transitions for Cap'n's punishments.
- More sounds.

KNOWN BUGS
- Morale calculation after getting Pirates Angry-drunk has issues.

I haven't even played this yet, but I can tell its genius.

Capitalize Pirate and it will look much better, other than that, this map seems genius.

Eh, maybe if i knew what was the average amount of ingredients to use or the average fermenting time. I wouldnt call it genius but its not bad, just weird.

That's looks awesome. I'm going to try this map when I get the chance.

Something tells me that This map Pwns Blizzard's "featured" Aiur Chef upwards, downwards, and sidewars.

Man.. Maybe we should be doing some random Introverted Digging and see what treasures we can find... ?

I'm sure there are a lot of old maps on here, too, that were great concepts but limited by SC's editor. Perhaps they should be remade in SC2.

As a random thought, perhaps it could be a good idea to design games using crappy interfaces modeled off of the ones we used in sc1, just for fun. Like we could make a game like samsizzle's Urban with the same fight mechanics (roughly). Maybe that would be cool too?

Lol the second half is just a random thought, not everyone is out to get you devlin.

I beg to differ. Just a moment ago I heard the sound of bushes rustling outside. Ninjas are coming.

But no really, I think it would be cool to go back and remake some of these old maps. I played Aiur Chef once and wasn't a fan, but I could totally get behind this map in SC2.

Now we just need pirate models...
