Download:
ARAI Final v3.1

So this is it. The mod has now been restored to it's original 1.13.e version in that the Betrayer race is once again a 2nd Terran race as well as the terran upgrades associated with those units. It would be silly to try and describe what all has been done, so here is the current readme:
Quote
ARAI is a Firegraft mod that requires Starcraft 1.15.0.
ARAI will NOT work properly on any other version.

2 Difficulty levels:
ARAI Insane = Broodwar
ARAI Normal = Vanilla Starcraft

ARAI Final v3.0 should now be nearly identical to Voyager's 1.13.e mod in that the Betrayer race + the upgrades have been restored to their original Terran attributes. I have learned a lot about modding analyzing this mod and finding solutions to an otherwise non-existant AI. ARAI is much more than just a "script". Many changes and experiments transpired before arriving at this Final version; far too many to comment on. Knowing what I do now, the journey would have been much more direct and far less work. In the end, I am very satisfied with how this turned out and equally as happy in the fact that it remains damn near 100% true to the creators' original.

So There you have it.

Download it!
Play it!
Love it!
And then worship Voyager and Ermac!

... OR DIE!

I don't get involved in that. I did everything I could to keep this 100% original. If Voyager wants to further tweak his mod.. go bug him.

UPDATE:
V3.0 FINAL added to first post:
* 2 Difficulty levels added via Poiuy_qwert's idea:
normal = Vanilla SC
insane = Broodwar

* MUAI adjustments
* Final cosmetic updates
* String updates
* Cloaked mercenary cpu units removed
* Nerfed Insane AI

And I'm looking forward to playing 3Kingdoms. The previews have been fantastic! What ever happen to NirvanaJung's Dungeon btw?

I have built single player support now for 3 major TC's and have learned a lot about modding in the process. I had very little knowledge of most modding techniques when I started (and it probably showed! :lol:), but now feel I have a decent understanding of modding in general and the accompanying tools.

The first mod I attempted was ORAI (Open Rebellion). I pretty much had no clue as to how to compile .grp's, graft, or make the necessary iscript modifications to make this work, but eventually I figured it out. I'd have to say ORAI is still my favorite only because it was the first thing I ever tackled and it was pretty overwhelming rebuilding the graft from scratch with Memgraft. Not to mention that OR eventually lead me to Entropy and the BWAI Project looking for AI answers.

ARAI (Antithesis Rising) was my 2nd project and it too had to be grafted from scratch with Memgraft. I don't think Voyager imported a .pat from 1.10 so I assume his 1.13e version was made with Memgraft 1.13e and I never asked if he had a .mgp file nor whether it could even be reopened. ARAI stumped me as far as getting the computer to work with the Betrayer race and I pretty much hacked it up and this Final version is finally restored to the original concept. ARAI is imho one of the best single player challenges and a great mod to play against the computer now and then. I love this mod.

Finally AAAI (Ad Astras) was by far without a doubt the most challenging mod to get the computer to work for. Just when I thought things were worked out, another puzzle would just blow me away. I might have spent more hours experimenting, and reworking this mod than LordA put in the mod itself. Ya it was that difficult. The mod Ad Astras is simply amazing tho and I'm just so happy I was granted permission to build the Single-player version. I gained so much experience working with this. If you ppl want to LEARN something about modding. Just study LordA's mod and I guarantee you will become a better modder. Ya it's that good!

Ok so lol I don't know why I felt the need to share all of this. Basically these things are a hell of a lot of work, and sometimes I feel really bad because I am hacking someone else's work. I really try hard to keep these as original as I can and respect the creators. They spent so much time and energy building these mods yet alone the creativity and thought process involved as well. These guys are really good!

?? .. but it can get you laid! It can make you rich! It can be highly rejuvenating! It has magic properties! Dogs like it! It smells great! It is magic.... no, seriously I have no idea what you meant by no realistic uses?

It means no computer AI can make you good enough to earn money with gaming, or winning any decent amateur.

Ahh I see. Yes, Starcraft’s internal Ai engine is far inferior to the human player and none will argue with that. It does really stupid shit; employs what seems like zero strategy; is vulnerable to numerous exploits; and stumbles with very, very poor micro. The list goes on and on.

However, despite these crippling pitfalls, given the right environment, especially a substantial material advantage, the computer can be a delightful challenge. When the player is forced to micro a small M&M force to combat 30 suicidal mutas while a pile of Ultras/hydras come knocking at the front door, you’re gonna need your "A" game.

Many gosu players have played our mods and the resulting replays are simply amazing. All of these Melee Titans such as yourself are far too good to be wasting their time playing against silly computer scripts, but these guys just love Starcraft and everything about Starcraft. They live for this game and as such enjoy any kind of challenge they can get their hands on. So while these projects won’t vault you to Pro Stardom, they’ll kick your ass if you don’t play your best and hopefully give you a good laugh. And that’s the bottom line.

On a related note, this mod ARAI as well as most of my other projects have been nerfed now several times because the majority of ppl that play this are far from “pro” melee players. I have always tried to offer several different difficulty levels so that every skill level can find that perfect challenge. Making an unbeatable AI that can wipe the floor with any pro player is really simple. Try a quick game vs. the terran cpu below for instance. No human player could ever beat something as absurd as this! But what fun is that?

baja_absurd_Bcruiser.zip
:rolleyes: :rolleyes: :omfg: :omfg: :omfg:

Don't get me started making projects like the above .exe just to spite ppl who feel the Ai isn't a "worthy" opponent. I've made great strides towards creating more "realistic" and fun challenges. I can easily stumble backwards to my old diabolical ways. :ermm: :bleh:

That forum Site was just deleted by host while i haven't managed there lol
As i said recently at here, i haven't been work and I was not interested in modding or TK mod for a fairly long time
to tell the truth, i have been creating Golf courses for TigerWoods PGA tour game title and other stuffs
and played StarCraft rabidly with Zerg race to master zerg playing like as Pro gamers

but now I'm so around and about the work for TK mod and it would be better quality than before
so you should give your hand for the AI of TK mod :)

btw, were there some stuffs and something in the forum which you need ?
i keep the resources to the extent of three-quarter

As for AI mod, honestly i dont expect AI act in the same mold like as Human gosu player lol
anyhow units the are Acts by orders of AI in the same pattern
but custom AI is quite necessary to make increase single players for Mod

Tiger Woods is just awesome. He just blows me away! Strangely enough, I've never played his video game series. Maybe I should check it out. Creating a virtual golf course would seem fun.

As for Nirvanjung's Dungeon... well I must say that my 3dsMax7 "plugin" that I downloaded from there is just awesome! thnx!
good tuts too. Impressive for English as a second language.

EA's Tiger woods PGA Tour is most popular and it's really a masterwork in the golf games, if you like him and the Golf sports then you should buy it promptly
Also you could Creat a golf course as looks like your neighborhood or a noted place :lol:

Jul 1 2008, 7:20 pm bajadulce Post #18

well then play against 2.
:D :rolleyes:

Seriously, 99% of the ppl complained that it was just too insanely difficult 1v1. Even some really good players scoffed at it as "ridiculous". I got nothing but grief at how much they despised the Ai and its obnoxious cheating, and frankly I felt the same way.

With the previous version I had to make a special map just so ppl could play this 1v1 against the cpu. The standard pro-map setups weren't allowing fast enough defense and the Ai would just wipe your nose in diaper shit with it's first attack wave. HERE <--- definitely a wicked challenge. Apparently only ONE person was ever able to come out a victor! And those were some SWWWWWEEEEEETT replays btw! That guy was possessed! :bleh: ) .

:)
Allright, I still have the old scripts & the units.dat. I'll try to find some time to build a second exe. ARAI_Final and ARAI_Final_Legendary will soon be available for you extremist or Team vs. compstompers. I'll put them together in one .zip as well. This will allow for 4 difficulty levels which should satisfy every skill level. ... and then I'm done! :><:

In other news.. I've returned to my forgotten mod and have picked up where I left off after months of neglect... modding is so much sweeter when it's your own project; Easier to work with, but harder to conceive.
