Don't play with fire, play with lil-Inferno!

The Official Concept Ladder Hosted by lil-Inferno Contains 10 Maps, 1 Test Map Compilation, and 2 Members Major Contributors Include X You may use Concept or test maps you already have. I am starting this system which will be used to display the knowledge and best work of Map Makers on SEN. It will be a simple system which will give minerals as bonuses and display your glorious Concept maps for all to see and admire! I will be giving away 50 minerals for entry pieces, and 25 minerals for every other person you ascend above on the ladder, starting from the bottom. All SEN members can join this exciting ladder to find the best concepts and ideas on Starcraft. There are requirements. You must not have a stolen idea, your map must be a concept or test map, not a whole entire map, do not post screenshots, and you must have a link to the download of the map. But remember, the better your concept / Test map, the more minerals you can earn, as well as respect from your peers here at SEN. The fact that people are setting up position for you to climb, I will not send rewards for the first set of posts until I feel comfortable having you climb and to display your maps. This rule will be carried out from this point on and will effect all new ladder members. Once the economy grows and fellow members start to contribute, I will give out the rewards. Errors do occur, if you find a link not working or anything out of the ordinary; please contact me via personal message. I will try and continue to update both the Ladder and my Database as I find myself time. Realizations that some map makers do steal concepts and ideas for one another; I will personally check anything that looks suspiciously familiar and make sure it doesn't have any other key displays of copying. Thank you for your consideration for the respect of fellow map makers. Realize that I do not have all the time in the world to test your maps, so be patient if the Ladder hasn't been updated in a while. Host Database Concept Maps By lil-Inferno This is my personal collection of Concept maps. I will be updating this more frequently as I find the time to test out some of my ideas. Well, pretty much an experiment to test something. I know you have some, such as your Disruption Web to Move Unit map, correct?
Send download links, please. |

Taking StarCraft Map Making to the Limit!

Okay, so what are the real rules? Does it have to be test maps for new concepts? Or are test maps for basic concepts to help new people out? What are the limits?

It doesn't neccessarily have to be a whole new thing, just a test map. If you go into the Maplantis Database under "Experimental Maps", you should get the idea of what they are.
EDIT: The link to the download of your Tests Compilation is broken, and they have to be maps authored strictly by you. However, I will add it in the Database. |

Taking StarCraft Map Making to the Limit!

Here's my starting piece:
Wait vs. Death.scm (74.88 kb) -- 2 hits it shows the difference between using waits and using Deaths in order to play music at different game speeds, simply stand on the top beacon to use deaths, the bottom to use waits, change the game speed and see the different effects. You will notice that waits do not change based on game speed, while death counts do. Sorry, I tried to make direct links when I first made the website so the links randomly go down, here's a link that will always work: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?epszzdwgnkn |

By download link, I mean a Mediafire link, or SEN Database link, etc. However, I will take the liberty to get a link for you, but don't expect me to do it again.

Exactly, he accepted donations and bought a name color in which I peer pressured. But I have nothing to do with it, his choice.

Because the participants get mineral rewards.
And I kind of regret it. |

Meh, I guess he deserves something for his efforts, but a name color is a LOT of minerals..

I got like a hundred of these dumb things lying around. I could probably end this ladder if I zipped them all up and posted them.

If they all happen to be duplicates and a lot of worthless stuff that you never bother using or is never considered useful. Hundreds sounds like an exaggeration, even to you, Tuxedo.

Edit: No I'm quite literal. I just don't release them unless they're in the form of a proper map as a matter of policy. Rush and AG alone represented like over 50 various concepts I've prototyped into their own maps, for instance.
Though I do post some of my more practical ones on occasion for others to make use of. Such as that Starport launcher one (which I'm also making into a map, by the way) |

I have very few test maps. This is mainly because whenever I make a test map, I usually attempt many more tests on the same map. Many maps that test terrain end up testing trigger systems, going through large changes where I almost completely erase the previous map. My terrain maps in themselves are constantly changing.
But I suppose you could call most of the maps I've made a concept map, as each tries to test at least one, most of the time several new concepts. Yeah, I can only think of four maps that weren't concept maps. |
