Does anyone have the feeling that maybe the map editor will have the ability to give us a nice condition that says something like:
'
Exactly 1 Marine owned by
Player 1 at
Marine has
at most 50 health'
'
At least 1 Ghost owned by
Player 2 at
Ghost has
at least 75 percent health'
You all know what this looks like...
This is what we all call to be Unit Health Detection and if this was made easy in StarCraft 2 then we will be seeing a lot more of RPG maps and what not instead of the good old defense maps. I know for a fact right now that the EUDs of StarCraft are not holding up very well due to how much you have to do to get them to work correctly and how they are able to change with every patch and what not, this kind of condition I think would change the ways maps are made and maybe even give birth to a new type of map style. What that style is, I don't know... But I have a good feeling that this condition, or something similar, will be coming in the next map editor...
None.
I really hope we'll be able to choose units based on their current properties.
So:
Always
Destroy all ghosts with exactly 100% energy
And do more specific stuff that I really can't think of.
You can code in the new editor, there's really no limit.
None.
If WCIII's editor could do it... expect the same out of SCII's editor...
None.
WCIII editor = SC editor^50
SCII editor = WCIII editor^50
SCII is a LONGSHOT from staredit.
None.
Relatively ancient and inactive
Actually, I'd make it more like WCIII = SC^5, SCII = 2 x WCIII. Still, awesome.
Yes, you can do this. YOU CAN DO ALMOST ANYTHING!!!1!!1oe1
None.
Let me show you how to hump without making love.

You can make a third person RPG map as you use the keyboard to move and attack. Hell, I expect first person in SC2.
None.
The thing is going to have a powerlevel
OVER NINE THOUSAND
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
Q. Can the editor write a virus into the user's ram? (I hope you won't be able to do that...)
A.
No.
Blizzard's pretty tight with security stuff.
EUDs can POSSIBLY be used as a virus. But it takes a lot of effort to do it. Even so, Blizz said 'Nup' and constantly fucks it up every update.
None.
If it can stop people making "strip whoever" maps then I'll be impressed.
The worry i have is that I would have no chance of making something good in it. In SC, one person can make a pretty incredible map by himself (or herself), but with SCII, you'll be able to create your own models and probably do everything with triggers except rewriting the game engine. What i mean is I won't have any excuse for saruman having a glowing blue shadow thing anymore. To keep up with everyone else will require more than just knowing one triggering system really well. Oh well, time to learn 3D modelling...
None.
Yep, that is why I like Starcraft editing so much. It is so simple and basic that you can know everything about it. It takes years (at least) to master everything about War3 edit however. Same goes for SCII but then even worse, probably.
For example, it will be possible to create a FPS shooter in SCII, or at least one from behind-top the character. That is even possible in WarIII.
None.

Imagine, 3D, and you can modify terrain via triggers! It'd be 3D Movie Strips!

Stop being dramatic, and don't learn modeling. Seriously. You won't be able to match SCII graphics, don't even try. Instead, practice making maps with the WCIII editor, and you won't be that far behind.

Or... insert your .avi and have it DISPLAY!
None.
Nah, you can't just insert your avi, 'cuz they have to see it in 3D!
None.

WE^!WE = SCUME

Terran briefings are first person-ish, so probably.

Factorial notation goes AFTER the variables. SE^!SE = 1.
