I'm not really a melee player, but from watching some of these guys play I really didn't give melee enough credit. Wow... Count on an asian to dedicate his whole life to something like sc lol.

I've always been a big Savior fan, and I hear he's back on the A-team (not the mohawk variety). He always seems to make such great comebacks. But seriously, after JulyZerg coming back and whipping the snot out of Best, that was pretty epic. July vs Best OSL Finals

Of course, as much as I hate terrans, everyone should love Boxer. He's much too creative + 1337.

I once played someone named July (give or take zerg etc) in USWest in an obs game (longinus probably), as there were no other opponents but me and another awful player. He didn't say much, but I asked, "2v1? no rush." He waited a second, then said go, and he made short work of us with protoss. Who knows if it was him, but it seemed a possibility =P. And, while he didn't talk much, he was polite.

Pros don't play on pubs. It's a fact :\ Ok. Heres a little measure.
800 - Very noob ( Knows little to no build orders, might have to doubt age, or the ability to play starcraft with much ease. Does not know all the functions SC has. )
900 - Noob ( Knows little build orders, not perfected. Also might have to doubt age, or the ability to play starcraft with much ease. Knows some of the functions SC has, but does not know all of it. )
1000 - Almost off of noob ( Knows some build orders, might be good in a few situations. Has little ability to play starcraft with much ease. Mostly know the functions SC has. )
1100 - Decent ( Knows most of build orders, some not perfected- or not even close. Might lack multitasking capabilities and the ability to micro simultaneously )
1200 - Good ( Knows all the build orders, might lack a few match ups- not even close to mastering even ONE race, but still capable of defeating most of public players. )
1300 - Better ( Knows all the build orders, might know advanced micro and closely immitate advanced build orders. Knows all functions and is able to use all functions with much ease. Is able to multitask with some difficulty. )
1400 - Very Good ( In addition to 1300 category, knows how to multitask with less difficulty. Able to perform some wicked micro, and be able to feel the game situation with some difficulty. )
1500 - Awesome ( In addition to 1400 category, the level has reached to a point when a player can play other races at 1200~1300 levels. Has game consistancy, multitasking capabilities are much better, even to a point being able to attack and micro 3~4 locations simultaneously. )
1600 - Great ( In addition to 1500 category, the player is not yet a semipro- but is close to one. If wished, he could get into famous clans- with some difficulty. Is very used to simultaneous multitasking and mass controlling. Is proficient in all build orders, and can play all races with high proficiency. )
1700 - Semi-pro ( The level has reached to a semi-pro level. Proficient and excels in every part of starcraft gaming. )
1800~1900+ ( These people are one out of 4,000 koreans of whom play at 1700 levels of starcraft gaming. )
Progamer levels are not here because they cannot be rated through simple measures like this.
On a note, most SEN players are between 800 and 900 if not 1000. Koltz is around 1300.

Lol. You felt the need to list all that out? First of all, it's not a fact. It's just highly unlikely. That's a fact. Even pro gamers can screw around sometimes. We can't get inside their heads.

I don't really have a favorite melee player, but I hate Firebathero. The only thing I like about him is that his dance is pretty funny lol.

For entertainment value:

Terran: ILoveOov
Zerg: Savior
Protoss: Stork

We could probably sit here talking about who's the best players for each race, but from all the games I've watched, it looks like there's no clear 'best' since they win just as much as they lose. These are just the players I consider more fun to watch.

This is not uncommon. ICCUP teams is where you will find players who can show you replays of them against non-korean pros. Stars[AoV] just showed me a rep of him against Mondragon who is currently ranked number 1 on the gosugamers.net's non-korean list of professional players. Keep in mind those guys play around 20 games a day to stay at their level. In Stars[AoV]'s case he chat crafted with Mondragon to make friends with him before asking him for a game. :)

If you want a game with guys like Testie or iNcontrol, just hang around in "OP tl-west" west server, obviously. If they're on, they'll play anyone who asks for a game. I've played a few games with them, both melee, and SCV football, and it was fun enough.

My favourite player who isn't retired right now is Savior. I say that because I actually get excited during his games, whether they're good or not, because I really want to see him win... Kind of like any other sportsfan, really. There are a lot of other players I like, but I don't particularly root for them. I hope BoxeR makes a comeback though, if only because of his very interesting play style. I suppose I cheer pretty hard for boxer as well, but if it's a game between BoxeR and SaviOr, I want SaviOr to win... maybe.. It would hurt both ways.

If anyone on SEN is interested in watching StarCraft VODs, GOMTV is a very good English commentary for professional leagues in Korea.
