So like yesterday I decided to reinstall after not playing for about a year. Anyway, everything went well, and I had some fun mapping and playing ums.

NEWAY

I get on today, and, oh shit my screen is fucked up. Like these random black bars are going up and down the top left area of my monitor. It was really weird. I tried reinstalling and I updated my Direct X, but neither solved the problem. Umm I made a video of the problem, you can see it here:

Bug Video

The video is kinda fuzzy, but hopefully someone will be able to see what exactly is going on.

Oh umm side note: This display bug does not occur when you're looking around on battle.net, but not actually playing... Like if ur in a channel it won't happen.

Help?

I've had something somewhat similar to this happen before, it usually occurred from some program in the background trying to appear but not being able to because SC is full screen. Dunno if you're experiencing that problem, try minimizing all your background stuff (or even turning it off)

Ok turns out XFire was causing the problem. I configured it so that it doesn't mess with stuff anymore.

But now I got another problem...

I can host games, but it takes forever for a player to download a map!! It is SOOO Slow meanwhile my upload speed is just shy of 1Gb/second. Maps shouldn't take any time to upload, but for me they do. I tried forewarding ports 6112 --> 6119 TCP & UDP but I didn't get any results. :(

That's not necessarily your fault, the player downloading could be slow, and Battle.net slows everything down anyway.

Bnet throttles download speeds, i have no idea why.

How does it throttle it? Transfering over a server with over 60M players doesn't take shorter, it takes longer!

And for the download problem: Is map excessively large?
Is router wireless and has to go through multiple security bypasses?
Is the downloader a NooB with Teh Slow ConNeXion?

Dawn isn't as great, but the theme song is good enough.
