Dude I was driving on a completely empty road (for as far as I could see both behind and ahead of me) 5am in the morning going 1 mph over the speed limit and I still get a ticket.
Luckily where I live you can get out of 1 ticket like this every 3 years by taking a gay 2 hour class. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Here in TX (or maybe just in my county), if you get a speeding ticket or something and you have to go to court for it, the cop that gave you the ticket has to show up. It's a stupid thing, but that's one reason why cops tend to give ppl more warnings than actual tickets; they're too damn lazy to show up at the court.
I dunno about south Carolina, but you have to make sure that each county or something doesn't have its own policy or whatever which could easily be overlooked. I know that state troopers and actual city police follow different guidelines sometimes. If you feel as though the cop that wrote you the ticket did something unjust, you should try to record his license plate number. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Always have an answer, huh? I didn't ask for a solution. Yeah, I'm not sure about whether or not the cop has to show up, but I think he does. I doubt he will though, he'll probably just assume I paid the thing. I also don't know if the county had any special rules, but I don't think so, I was on the highway -.- Here's another thing I didn't mention earlier: On the way home I saw the same god damn policeman with another guy pulled over. I think this guy was just trying to make some extra money this day. |

I paid eleven minerals for THIS?

That works? NO WAI! According to the story, Nerdy still knew he was speeding (78/70). Somehow, I find it hard to believe that the speed limit was 70mph. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "Three can keep a secret, if two are dead." -Benjamin Franklin

Fuck that, around where I live you gotta drive 10+ miles to get anywhere and the speed limits are not fucking fair when it comes to getting to your destination fast. Its no wonder almost everyone is going 65+ in 45mph speed zones out here, they don't give a rats ass and the cops can't do much about it when theres tons of traffic. But seriously, 1 mph over? You gotta give a man leeway, especially if he's driving an older vehicle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Cops suck... especially on the free ways because then everyone has to reduce their speed and it creates major back ups...
There are plenty of ways to get out of speeding tickets entirely... bring it to trial and ask for the laser / radar gun's certification of accuracy or whatever... and blah blah blah... I only got 1 speeding ticket back when I first got my license... and the only reason I got it is because 1) The road was 35 mph and that was ridiculously low for that busy street. 2) It was the first time I was in that area and I was paying more attention to my surroundings because I was looking for a specific street, rather than me speed and the speed limit 3) I had to change lanes and sped up to get around a car (after I realized I needed to turn). And my biggest regret was not going to court and at least getting the points removed, because I could have just mentioned the above. If your record is clean so far and this is your only ticket, I'd recommend more focus on the points / changing the ticket type than the money, because getting points usually jacks up your insurance and denies you of perfect driving record deductions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Things to know: The squeaky wheel gets the grease

I got pulled over for [officially] doing 62 in a 45. I've done 70 safely on that road (that spot in particular), but hey, hard to argue with cops. Going to court to plead guilty to get the points and maybe the fine removed, or at least reduced.
I'm just glad he didn't think I was high, 'cause I was just coming down to go to work. Guess I dodged that bullet. Since then, I just drive with my CC set to 55 on that road (10 above) and 65 on the main road (10 above). That's the general rule I've always seen administered. Don't you just love it when they're like "You were doing 62, but I put you down for 54. Aren't I nice?!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Oh I fucking hate that! Whoever sees the cop first inevitably slows down to like 15 BELOW the speed limit, and we all suffer in a long near never ending chain reaction because of it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, I do that everytime. Had I been paying attention rather than changing the station on the radio I would have actually noticed the cop in time and been able to slow down to 15 below, but sadly no. I think I'm going to go to court and try IP's method. |
