Title self explanatory. No target market = bad, Apple. Prepare yourselves for another flop.

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO
I saw it and said "meh another really expensive computer that I'll never get"
But then clicked the Y! Link and I saw it sucked more than what I thought of.
Seriously. Apple is aiming only to design and thin, small stuff but no functionality and improvement. Of course having a really thin laptop is an improvement but seriously? I must break like glass.
fuck you all
WHAT IS THE POINT OF A LAPTOP IF IT IS THIN BUT DOES NOT WORK!?

Yeah, the Macbook Air is going to flop, methinks. Way too expensive for what it's offering. No user replacable battery? 1.8" harddrive? That's going to be hellishly slow. Your other option is to pay 1000$ more for a 64GB SSD.. No user-expandable memory, and the specs are already rather weak anyway. 1 USB PORT, no optical drive, no firewire port? WTF?
I know it's giving up speed for its size, but I don't think a drop in size from the already decently sized Mac Book Pro is worth sacrificing so much.

Not to mention that Macbook pros actually look good. Nice, square, and sexy.

Ya, I'll have to admit that apple did bite themselves in the ass this time. Only good thing was the new touchpad/trackpad w/e. The macbook pro is more powerful, same price, and I can carry it around just as easly. I guess people that can't carry more than 4-5 pounds will get it. Apple should of just gave the people what they wanted and went with a laptop tablet.

Even though I like Apple, this thing is shit. It looks cool, but has MAJOR problems. 1. The specs. They are shit. 2. The price. What a rip. 3. No CD/DVD drive. 4. Drop it, set it down on a table too fast, guess what? Broken laptop.
Although the 1 USB thing is wrong. It has 2.
Hopefully they stop production before it megaflops (crappy pun intended), and thus screws Apple's computer market over.
this too shall pass

I thought the new MBP's had multi touch trackpads too...

It wouldn't break if you had the 3000$ version, in which case it'd be pretty indestructible.

Postulate: Most Apple products are teh sux.

Counter: Apple produces a bunch of high quality mp3 players along with functional software for them.
Among other things..

Which tend to break after a year of use.
Why the hell not?

Sorry, I was wrong. It does have only one 1 USB port, it was just an erroneous article that said it had 2.

I'm not sure where you've figured that from, probably personal experience, in which case I say treat your stuff with care.
But yeah, I don't see where you're getting the idea that iPods unneccesarilly break more than other MP3 players.
I've owned a Shuffle and I own an iriver e10. The shuffle worked great for what it offered, and the E10 works okay now, but I think it's a piece of junk for organizing music.
The only qualm I can really see about iPods in general are their prices in relation to similar players from other companies. If Apple products are low quality, and prone to breaking, then what does that make 95% of the MP3 players out there? Not worth owning?
None.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipod#Reliability_and_durability20% fail rate among the HDD based models, not good. I've seen 3 iPods break in my house alone.
Does anyone else think it's funny that the DVD drive uses the only USB port available?

Now that little thing about Planned Failure is true about both Mac and Windows. Windows MAKES the god forsaken virii so you gotta buy another windows, or waste more money repairing the already broken computer.
Prove me wrong, try installing 5 firewalls and see how many XBox 360 ads STILL make it through.

20% failure for HDD based players is rather substantial, but that is including older models anyway. Obviously, MP3 players are fragile, too, so I'd like to see numbers for competing products.
I don't think I'll even bother replying to that, DM123, because it's definitely in contention for the most BS I've read in my life.

Firewalls installed: 1, Windows firewall
Ads making it through: 0

Know why? Microsoft and virii target firewalls. Its easy, and simple.
Imagine the Great wall of China (a sort of metaphor for our firewalls). ITS EASY TO SEE! Therefore, easy to spot, and spot weakness. With no firewalls (Except those handy ones in your router that makes sure you arent downloading what you shouldnt be), you're pretty much a ninja.

Before you engage in a debate, it's useful to know what you're talking about. You obviously don't. Firewalls filter out packets that were never requested. It prevents someone from breaking in a network. If you want to be a "ninja on the internet", don't go on the internet.
