So there's supposedly some unexplained noises going on across the world. It's been likened to the famous "War of the Worlds" horn-thing.
Just based solely on the way people work, some of these noises HAVE to be faked. Or nothing at all, for that matter... But other ones were recorded by different people at near locations (although different locations) at the same time, supposedly.
What do you think it is?
The one at 6:40 (of the vid) in Poland is particularly wicked.
Edit: Haha apparently someone made a topic about this in team liquid.

I hate to sound like I'm science illiterate or stupid or w/e
But I have personally heard this "hum" several times.. usually during the night when I'm sleeping.. I'd wake up to the loud sound... I always thought it was just some sort of construction thing but it never made sense...
I've listened through the first and halfway through the second video. Its important to read the comments - in the first video, for example, one commenter comes forward as the person that recorded the clips of him driving over a bridge and said it was strange - not that it was alien or coming from the sky (which I think a lot of these people are assuming). I also noticed a lot of people are referencing "Project Blue Beam" - a conspiracy theory that states that NASA is trying contrive a seemingly world-wife apocalyptic event with technology to usher in the New World Order headed by the anitchrist. I've also noticed something about many of the clips - there's a lot of cloud cover, and clouds move sound around in strange ways, sometimes amplifying them.
But I will also say that I remember four years ago hearing something similar to what these people described and what I hear. Two of the walls to my bedroom face directly out, so I always figured it was noise on the street. It was strange to me that I never saw anything that would create the noise, and I certainly do not remember thinking of anything significant that would cause the noise. It was like a low rumble almost like there was a generator on the other side of the wall (when there was not).
Also, if you haven't heard it before it might be prudent for you to look up the sound the electromagnetic field makes around planets:
It might be worth looking into the connection of the two.
Well, I can't say what I heard is related. It was kinda unnerving, but it stopped so I never thought more of it. I was just surprised that people were describing it about how I heard it. xD

I've never heard of any of this either, and all those sounds can be easily easily faked with programs these days...
Either way, if these sounds are real, I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation, not some pseudo-scientific conspiracy theory bs about aliens and what-not.
Is the essence of your post "If this isn't faked, it is more likely to be something that is more likely to happen". Cuz if so that's just... lol.
I'm not saying there aren't stupid crazies that are going to put out ridiculous theories. But anything is possible all the same (just with varying degrees of likelihood)

Aliens are not unbelievable. In fact it is rather silly to think that they DON'T exist, probabilistically speaking. It's very unlikely that Earth is the only planet capable of supporting intelligent life, considering how many trillions of planets actually exist.
What's unbelievable is the notion that they constantly visit us and fuck around. There's no good evidence for this, except a bunch of conspiracy theories. And though absence of evidence doesn't equate to evidence of absence, you can't use that same absence of evidence to bizarrely say that it probably IS aliens.
Nice straw man tikels. Read what I said again, I didn't even use the words 'more or less likely'. I wasn't even talking probabilities. I'm saying look at the evidence and come to a rational empirical conclusion, not jump to the first conspiracy theory that tickles your fancy: "weird sounds?? = ALIENS!! Aaaaagggggggh!!" That's the real 'lol' here.
It'd be a strawman if I didn't say "are you saying 'X'?" as opposed to "you are saying 'x'".
You framed aliens as being "pseudo-scientific bs" in your sentence. That's why people thought you were stating aliens were non-existent.
I can see why what you were saying makes sense, but the way you put it made me look at it like so: 1. People put out theories that are whack-o and completely off-the-wall. 2. You say to not consider these theories because they are "pseudo-scientific conspiracy theory bs about aliens and what-not", and therefore NOT a likely reality. This is important. It doesn't matter whether you used to word likely or not in your sentence. There is no objective false (apart from LOLOL 1=2), only likely and unlikely. 3. You said "dismiss unlikely theories as unlikely"
It wasn't a strawman but a different way of looking at it.

I said straw man, I didn't say fallacy. I was sarcastically complementing you on your nice little misrepresentation of my argument, which you then preceded to 'lol' at.

Here is my post again - as you can see, no mention of probabilities whatsoever.
Oh_Man shouted: yeah i'm tryin to go through all the greatest hits and get the runs up on youtube so my senile ass can appreciate them more readily
You should do my Delirus map too; it's a little cocky to say but I still think it's actually just a good game lol
