I want to start creating my own Experimental/Post-Rock/Mod-Classical music. Which program should I aim at if I do not own every instruments I will have to use?
This means the program has to be able to renders the notes I'm giving him for a specific instruments very clearly and viably. I don't want it to sound like Guitar Pro, for example. >_>

I use FL Studio 9, and recommend it. Sony Acid Pro is also decent though.

Lord of the Locker Room

I used Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 and Gigastudio (sampler) back when I composed music. Gigastudio needs hardware GSIF, though. I had several recommendations for Kontakt (another sampler) but could never get it to work with Cakewalk, so I never pursued music again.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

If you're cheap like me, LMMS is free, and not too dissimilar to FL studio, so you can upgrade to FL studio later on when you know a bit more and are sure you want to continue with what you're doing.

Red classic.

What's that? :/

I need to be able to apply pedal-effects on guitars, bend notes, do hammer-ons/pull-offs, harmonics (normal, tapped, etc.), and all that jazz.

I order you to forgive yourself!

You can always check this site: http://www.linuxalt.com/
Some programs won't run under windows but you may find what you want. The website is pretty up to date, it was last updated 3 days ago.

Note the programs are not always in best to worst order. (If you get what I mean.)

Downloading atm. Will give feedback once I'll have used it (probably in February, if I remember to).

It's something that will cost you a lot of money if you can even find a sound card that supports it anymore.

Just got the basic hang of how to work with FL Studio 9. The problem I see right now is the very low amount of instruments that are given me to use... are there any places where I can download a huge amount of instruments?

I compose orchestrally, so I can't really give any specific recommendations, but it does look like you're stuck in the same boat where low demand -> ridiculously high prices. IN my experience there really isn't anything that's free (and legal) that's worthwhile. It's sort of like decent graphics/modeling programs (although I don't do art).

What if I say idc about being a pirate? :P
It's not the will of a company to make cash over one of the greatest pleasures of my life that will prevent me from achieving this pleasure for free with their product. >:D

Pirates don't do music. They do wenches and looting.

a left leaning coexistence nut

Syballius is sexy.

You might try Finale. I think they have a free trial.

I haven't used either of these programs in five years though. I know finale used to sound a bit midi. Hopefully that changed.

I tried Finale 2007 and 2008 about 2 years ago and the instruments didn't sound midi anymore. In my opinion, they sound very natural. (And you can decide how the instruments are played.)

Couldn't find a single one. As far as I've understood, I'm searching for VST Plug-Ins, yet I couldn't find anything that looked like something that would let me import it into FL Studio and then select the newly installed instrument as a new channel. :/
Help the noob. :(

I want a Cello. >:O

Butch -- prob some weird character on a string somewhere or something dumb like that
[09:50 pm]
Ultraviolet -- It's weird indeed, not really sure what is so special about Spellsword that causes it to react differently on Remastered, usually EUDs are the cause of things like that
[05:35 pm]
Zoan -- I haven't played in like 2 years so maybe something changed I don't know about
[05:35 pm]
Zoan -- No-Name-Needed-II
No-Name-Needed-II shouted: Zoan No idea if anything changed.. I've made several maps that push TMOANC to the limit and they are still working.. 3 causes of it I've narrowed down are -Too many islands which some terrain on certain tilesets can create micro islands on cliff edges with basic isometric.. -Too many changes in elevation from high to mid to low ground.. -And too many tiles from certain doodads that block tank fire..
Any clue as to why a map which would previously work fine on past patches would now suddenly not work on the current remastered patch?
[05:34 pm]
Zoan -- I'll try Butch's suggestion of running in 32-bit, maybe that will fix it?
[05:34 pm]
Zoan -- Oh_Man
Oh_Man shouted: Did martiss' link not work?
It crashes as it does when you use EUD's incorrectly - like it closes starcraft and has the error window pop up with a ticket to send to Blizzard. I know it's not EUDs though since obviously spellsword doesn't use any, so IDK what it is.
