Okay, I've seen some really hacked maps where the units walk slow and jittery, but what I need is the unit to shoot slower, without walking any slower. Is there a script for that? Ideally, I wish units could start off with a certain permanent number of acid spores.
Any advice is appreciated.
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
No, there is no script for that. Basically, for nearly nothing there is a script.
optimal solution with 1 big drawback:
-You can make them shot slower (= higher weapon cooldown) with EUD actions. But every player needs to have EUDactionsEnabler by Fartybillion running or else the game will desync. So this isn't for public battle.net play.
less optimal solutions:
-But you can tinker with giving orders to the unit. If it shall move to the position where it stands, it stops shooting.
-If you have only 1 unit, you can tinker around with the alliance settings (set alliances for short periods) to distort the attack frequency.
-You can give the units to neutral for a short moment, so they won't attack. Does only work for computer units because humans can't order their unit anymore and lose unit selection.
That sux cuz none of those options are gonna work. Isn't there some way to hack the map? Some kinda cooldown increase must be possible, because the ensnare and acid spores do that. There must be a way to like set those variables true.
I was also thinking maybe setting the atk to 0, and just spawn some scarabs at the unit's location, using the cooldown time I want. But scarabs do only ground attacks and their range is fixed.

That used to be possible with the aforementioned EUD actions (which previously did not require the program to use) but Blizzard patched it because it could basically be used to make a memory virus. Sorry, not possible.

In Staredit, you can change basically everything about the unit---HP, mineral cost, build time, attack power, even bonus per upgrade. It would be a cinch to add cooldown time there, as it's just another variable specific to each unit class. Therefore, there must be a way to hack it.

I order you to forgive yourself!

EUDs?
You can always use a slower unit. I used to know a way that worked very well, but I can't remember what it was. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in one of my test maps.

The reason why they made the SC2 editor is so complex and advanced is because the SC1 editor was extremely basic and kept everything hidden, which was a huge setback. Unfortunately there is no way
anymore that we can change these values, unless you use EUDs and play alone or make a Mod and play alone. Really, that's all there is to it.
