youarenotworthy -- I'm having trouble figuring out how to do cliffs and transitions from low to mid to high terran, or from low to high. What tool creates cliffs like this?
Have they not implemented something like this?
In brood war, you simply added 'high terrain' and it created the cliff going from high to low terrain, how do we make these cliffs in starcraft 2? I've seen such a thing in the blizzard maps but can't figure out how to create them.

Does this help?
Not really, no. Could you interpret what is being illustrated? Also, is there only the two cliff types available for each tileset?
Ahh I see the problem. The problem lie with the tileset I was using.

Pressing ctrl+t hides those ugly pieces of terrain climbing up the cliff, fyi.

Thanks Syphon, I had activated it as well, I hate that!
How does Blizzard think that this is of any use, especially as it disappears when testing the map.

Awesome! Now it looks more professional.

You mean something like this?
Use the lower tool, the uniform on the deepest part of it, and it flattens and levels it out, depending how deep it is, the edges will seem sharp and unnatural. You would use the smooth tool and literally tap the button on the sides (Its sensitive, and if you do it too much it will look like a ramp)
Then get one of the tiles (Theres a tile in each set that looks perfect for cliffs, example is in the pic).
is this what you mean?
(If you mean cliffs, just go to the cliffs option and mess with that, its the easiest part of the Sc2 editor)

This is something that's been bothering me for a while. If you create terrain with two different levels like that, will units automatically recognize it as a cliff, or will they walk on it like normal?
None.
Thats why you use the pathing tool so they can't walk across the cliff sides
and it would be like a actual cliff.
