Hey,
by this I want to ask for help by drawing and sending us forum icons for the new SC2 forums, fitting the older ones.
http://www.staredit.net/?p=settings&area=forum - A pack of all available icon sets is located there.
We need icons for forums, keep in mind that naming the graphics like the forum ID (in the list the ID is in brackets) would be a big help:
- Custom Map Production (46)
- Custom Map Showcase (47)
- Theory and Ideas (48)
- Miscellaneous (49)
- Triggers (50)
- Terrain (51)
- Modeling (52)
- Skinning (53)
- Melee Strategy (54)
- Melee Assistance (55)
- Melee Showcase (56)
As every Icon got a gray version use the same image and re-save them in "gray-mode", with the name "ID_shaded".
All images should have the ending .png! Big thanks in advance.

32x32 pixels, you could have looked that up by yourself...

I already knew it. I just wanted you to update your topic. -.-
Haven't you noticed the "
" ? Foreshadowing 'teasing', imo.
Anyways.
I wonder why you've made this topic when this one is there and not even locked:
http://www.staredit.net/topic/10742/.Anyways, look what I've found
within this site for our SC2 General Discussion:
None.
I'd like to point out that the current placeholder for theory and ideas (SC2 obviously) doesn't turn gray when there are no new posts. EDIT: Nvm, must have been a problem on my end or something...

I do not know how to make it grey, sorry.
EDIT: I decided to make them all. They suck and aren't original, but they'll make it... for now. ;o
Their section, in the order: Triggers, Terrain, Misc, Theory/Ideas, Showcase, Modeling, Production.

I order you to forgive yourself!
I do not know how to make it grey, sorry.
Could this work?
(For some reason, I couldn't make the white background transparent... I'm on my other computer.)

Probably because I haven't shared the Photoshop version?
Fuck my life if its so, because I just closed Photoshop it without saving my PSPs ;o
None.
Payne, send me the icons without transparency -- preferably as uncompressed PNGs or as BMPs. I can then use GIMP to add (perfect <3) alpha transparency and greyscale for you.
None.
Huh, David, I haven't saved my stuff, except the final PNG file XD
I know, that was stupid
Basically, I screenshot'd GE, pasted in Photoshop, made a 22x22 selection square and copy-pasted most of the icons into a new document, resizing it to 32x32. After I used the Magic Stick to remove white contours and I removed the background layers.
EDIT: Though, as I'm looking through forums, I feel like having that same SCII icon for all sc2 forums will actually caught-up more people ;o
None.
Then screenshot it again
I think that having one SCII icon per section will help... But if everything's SCII? Well, that just gets boring.
Oh, oh, oh!! Not only can I add alpha transparency... If I screw with some filters and color tweaks, I can make them shiny and metallic like the current SCII icon! Visual consistency FTW!!
None.
Thanks payne, I know how to handle them and make them gray.

Added. Some white spots here and there, but thanks.

Change the SC2 General Discussion to:
;o

@Payne's Icons
They're all good.. but can use some color other than green
also agree with SC2 general icon
EDIT: Red icons with Purple Skin = awesome Xd
None.
As per Unholy's (and my) suggestion, I took a stab at recoloring the globe one to match the metallic color scheme in the SCII icon we already have. A side-by-side comparison: payne's normally-colored globe next to my metal one, and that next to the metal SCII icon.
Hmm, now that I do a side-by-side, mine looks a bit bright... But since I saved the GIMP XCF, I can easily tweak a few opacities to fix that.
None.
That looks a lot better!!
Also.. what is the icon for the Trigger thread supposed to be? O.o?
None.
The trigger of a gun. It's more apparent if you look at an unresized pic.
Anyway, here are two more. Those of you who were in the Shoutbox at the time may have heard that GIMP crashed mid-Marine. Sooo frustrating... But here ya go. Again, side-by-side comparison, payne-me-SCII.
Only thought of adding an outline while working on the Marine one. Now that I think of it, the Save icon would way better with a similar icon. But at least mah Marine's smexeh.
Marine's actually 3
4x3
4, but if you trim one pixel off each side, he'll fit. (The outline didn't
fully fit in 32x32. I added a pixel on each edge just to see how it'd look if it were contiguous.) Save icon matches exactly.
None.
I love the marine, but the save is really sucky :S
Don't change the GE's icon, it looks neat green.
None.
Yeah... My metal effect seems to work best with round, curved surfaces. Flat floppy disks? Not so much.
EDIT:
Come on, Dev. You know you want to.
