[2014-10-03. : 5:17 pm] Roy -- It may be possible to stack certain extended units, sure, but it increases the instability of the exploit, as you can clearly see.[2014-10-03. : 5:16 pm] sigsaucy -- i sit possible to stack extended units? my editor keeps crashing when i try to copy and paste them and right clicking and using stack selected does nothing[2014-10-03. : 5:15 pm] Roy -- I'm just brainstorming for potentially running dozens of instances 24/7 on a server. I could throw each instance inside a VM if necessary.[2014-10-03. : 5:15 pm] jjf28 -- could try it after a few mods (it currently uses the window name Brood War for some things)[2014-10-03. : 5:12 pm] Roy -- What if I ran multiple instances of your program, one for each instance of SC?[2014-10-03. : 5:08 pm] jjf28 -- I don't think so, they're absoute addresses in memory as my understanding goes[2014-10-03. : 5:06 pm] Roy -- Wouldn't they be the same (relative) addresses, just in a different process? Or maybe I'm not understanding you correctly.[2014-10-03. : 4:10 pm] jjf28 -- I use direct addresses, a second instance would mean all the addresses would have to be calculated from something[2014-10-03. : 3:57 pm] jjf28 -- RoyRoy shouted: Can your EUP test program be parallelized, jjf? That is, could I have multiple instances running (assuming I have the setup for multiple SC instances)? probably could, but that's a lot of work[2014-10-03. : 3:55 pm] jjf28 -- SacrieurSacrieur shouted: I wish I could cut and paste you into my bed cut? Sacrieur's a murder and probably a necrophiliac[2014-10-03. : 3:17 pm] Roy -- Can your EUP test program be parallelized, jjf? That is, could I have multiple instances running (assuming I have the setup for multiple SC instances)?[2014-10-03. : 2:44 pm] jjf28 -- here's a spot bio started http://neoeud.wikia.com/wiki/Confirmed_Extended_Units[2014-10-03. : 2:40 pm] jjf28 -- here's some that don't crash in the fog in the middle of a 256x256 map http://jjf28.net84.net/EupTest.html[2014-10-03. : 2:38 pm] jjf28 -- FaRTy1billionFaRTy1billion shouted: I'm not sure. I think jjf was looking in to that or something, so he'd know more about it haven't really made anything for this, just have a couple lists here and there[2014-10-03. : 2:38 pm] jjf28 -- FaRTy1billionFaRTy1billion shouted: CHKDraft can probably do it, jjf assured me the trigger editor was done text trig editor, haven't started classic [2014-10-03. : 12:31 pm] Roy -- You have eight players, and 19 units that cannot be placed without crashing SC. That's a total of 152 death counters. Do you need more than 152 death counters, FlameViper, and are you using every single unit in the game? Well, don't worry, because you can't kill power-ups, Mineral Fields, Vespene Geysers, Map Revealers, Start Locations, floor hatches, and pit doors, so you can use their death counters worry-free as well. That's an additional 136 death counters available to use, no matter what map you're making. So let me ask you: do you really need more than 288 individual counters?[2014-10-03. : 10:55 am] Moose -- Order a unit that moves a specified distance for a timer? Have a burning Terran building with a particular amount of HP to use as a timer?[2014-10-03. : 10:32 am] FlameViper -- Anyone knows of a method to add cooldowns for spells without using death counters? or a way to use fewer death counters[2014-10-03. : 9:52 am] Roy -- sigsaucysigsaucy shouted: or if you want a unit of say index 5, do you just have to put down enough units so index 0-4 are taken then place ur intended 5th index unit? Yes, there needs to be units that have existed for indexes 0-4 for there to be a unit at index 5. You could place a bunch of Map Revealers to get to the index you need, and then remove the Map Revealers when the game begins if you need to free up the unit slots.[2014-10-03. : 9:49 am] Roy -- sigsaucysigsaucy shouted: i've seen triggers like " Set Deaths("Player 4", "Int:17474", Set To, 16777216); " referenced, how do i pick the unit to be Int:17474? In the classic trigger editor, type "ID:17474" as the unit. ScmDraft won't recognize it in the text trigger editor, but ChkDraft will.[2014-10-03. : 6:41 am] sigsaucy -- or if you want a unit of say index 5, do you just have to put down enough units so index 0-4 are taken then place ur intended 5th index unit?[2014-10-03. : 6:35 am] sigsaucy -- yayyyy i figured it out, is typing it into the player owner slot in the top area the only way to do it/[2014-10-03. : 6:30 am] sigsaucy -- is it possible to directly place a unit for a high # player, ex player 55?[2014-10-03. : 5:56 am] sigsaucy -- it seems like we coudl easily set up a google doc or something to keep track easily[2014-10-03. : 5:56 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I'm not sure. I think jjf was looking in to that or something, so he'd know more about it[2014-10-03. : 5:52 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Oh, for unit ID specifically in Classic trig edit you can put ID:17474[2014-10-03. : 5:50 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- CHKDraft can probably do it, jjf assured me the trigger editor was done [2014-10-03. : 5:48 am] sigsaucy -- i've seen triggers like " Set Deaths("Player 4", "Int:17474", Set To, 16777216); " referenced, how do i pick the unit to be Int:17474?[2014-10-03. : 4:38 am] jjf28 -- perhaps I should put an "apply" button on those sheets... it wouldn't actually do anything cause the changes are automatically applied when a control (or the window) loses focus but it would seem more intuitive then clicking a different box to update background windows...[2014-10-03. : 4:34 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- I was just saying look at StarEdit to see what the property does[2014-10-03. : 4:33 am] jjf28 -- PUNI, thanks; and ehh, kinda like having both the properties and availability of a thing together, staredits seems more disjointed/difficult to find, though SCMD certainly could use a sign saying "THIS IS THE ONE YOU'RE CURRENTLY EDITING" [2014-10-03. : 4:21 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- It's what the "Use Default" setting refers to for Unit Availability[2014-10-03. : 4:18 am] jjf28 -- say farty, do you know what the "enabled by default" checkbox for units actually changes?[2014-10-03. : 3:02 am] O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Uh, Recursive acronyms such as RASARWITDJMUATB, which I totally didn't just make up, are the best![2014-10-03. : 2:55 am] Moose -- He also likened Last In First Out to corporate layoff policies of the early 90s. I read it and thought "oh boy, if your book could see the future..."[2014-10-03. : 2:53 am] Moose -- I was reading an old UNIX book, the author referred to recursive acronyms as the result of a mental disorder endemic to the southern Cambridge, MA area.[2014-10-03. : 2:48 am] l)ark_ssj9kevin -- it's a complete merge of 7 and 8, and still has a few artifacts that make it obvious |
