[2016-12-16. : 7:23 pm]
Lanthanide -- Dem0n
Dem0n shouted: Why? Don't you live in a bumfucky area?
geographic inversion layer, most likely
[2016-12-16. : 7:16 pm]
Lanthanide -- ShadowFlare
ShadowFlare shouted: They are definitely routers (like normally $150 - $180 routers at the time) and meant to be used as such. By enabling wireless access point or wireless bridge mode, I was disabling a large portion of their feature set.
ok, that makes more sense
[2016-12-16. : 4:31 pm]
IskatuMesk -- there are no ways to generate money out of anything I do lol and my passion is dead NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Mesk you really need to spend more energy looking for more / better ways to generate money out of your passion. Once you've managed that your life will turn for the better.
my life isn't gonna last much longer anyways
[2016-12-16. : 4:28 pm]
Dem0n -- Why? Don't you live in a bumfucky area?
[2016-12-16. : 4:23 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- sort of like LA or whatever, but it's more seasonal
[2016-12-16. : 4:22 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- Here when it gets cold our air turns to garbage and it becomes toxic to breathe :wob:
[2016-12-16. : 4:19 pm]
Dem0n -- ya
[2016-12-16. : 4:18 pm]
lil-Inferno -- cuz
[2016-12-16. : 4:16 pm]
The donwano -- $#@% It's so cold! Why do I live in an environment where the air hurts to breathe?
[2016-12-16. : 4:02 pm]
O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: I bet :farty: can relate: http://i.imgur.com/WWfLBEw.gif
I dont usually play accoustic, and I'm also not bad at things :P
[2016-12-16. : 3:58 pm]
NudeRaider -- I bet :farty: can relate: http://i.imgur.com/WWfLBEw.gif
[2016-12-16. : 3:30 pm]
NudeRaider -- oh and I should add "and this much time" - another important factor
[2016-12-16. : 3:27 pm]
NudeRaider -- That goes for anyone actually, but few have a passion that useful, are that dedicated, and this in need of more income.
[2016-12-16. : 3:25 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mesk you really need to spend more energy looking for more / better ways to generate money out of your passion. Once you've managed that your life will turn for the better.
[2016-12-16. : 3:12 pm]
IskatuMesk -- course you'll need to do that anyways because normal maps don't get generated by the modelviewer afaik'
[2016-12-16. : 3:12 pm]
IskatuMesk -- '
[2016-12-16. : 3:10 pm]
IskatuMesk -- if you want to convert wow models, extract the m2s using the wowmodelviewer and import them into 3ds max using blinkboy's importer.
[2016-12-16. : 3:09 pm]
IskatuMesk -- those models are so hosed you can't even put them into 3ds max
[2016-12-16. : 3:08 pm]
IskatuMesk -- never use something like the built-in exporter for wowmodelviewer. that shit is all kinds of broken, and was always broken from the get-go (long before void)
[2016-12-16. : 3:07 pm]
IskatuMesk -- I just assume the guy used some trash program like blender for his models and that's why they were the exception
[2016-12-16. : 3:06 pm]
IskatuMesk -- one of the models that broke hardcore for me was a mapster one. Made shit flicker all black. XML conversion didn't fix it - I imported it into 3ds max using taylormouse's importer and then fixed all the shit the importer breaks and exported with art tools. All problems vanished.
[2016-12-16. : 3:05 pm]
IskatuMesk -- I encode my videos. The 10bit encode speed is very slow
[2016-12-16. : 2:39 pm]
Ahli -- IskatuMesk
IskatuMesk shouted: if Void 3.0 broke your models it's as simple as taking sc2printin's XML converter and swapping them to XML and then back again.
doesn't work for all of them :<
[2016-12-16. : 2:25 pm]
TF- -- kickstarting them like a propeller plane worked once or twice, but we're past that now
[2016-12-16. : 2:12 pm]
Dem0n -- Give em a little spin before turning on your computer
[2016-12-16. : 2:10 pm]
TF- -- the fans on my case have stopped spinning completely and the only reason I can get away with it is that it's winter
[2016-12-16. : 1:49 pm]
The donwano -- But that's all piddly to the BSOD you get. What do you do for work if I may ask?
[2016-12-16. : 1:45 pm]
The donwano -- Pollen. The cotton wood trees burst open in the spring & I get swarmed by the fuzzies as it looks like snow flying through the air.
[2016-12-16. : 1:45 pm]
IskatuMesk -- trees are terrible for dust too
[2016-12-16. : 1:44 pm]
The donwano -- My boss yells at me all the time that I'm not keeping the computers dust free. I work in a semi-trailer that was converted to a blacktop & gravel laboratory. Anything I do with my work produces dust.
[2016-12-16. : 1:43 pm]
IskatuMesk -- yeah, the sound card control panel
[2016-12-16. : 1:43 pm]
IskatuMesk -- I've also had two video cards fail due to summer heat so the rest of it can't be in good shape
[2016-12-16. : 1:43 pm]
The donwano -- You leave control panel open and it happens? WTH
[2016-12-16. : 1:42 pm]
IskatuMesk -- if I plug headphones or a mic into my soundcard, or leave the control panel open for a while and then shut it down, I BSOD
[2016-12-16. : 1:38 pm]
The donwano -- At my job I have this USB drive they gave me & every time I pull it out of USB port the plastic casing pulls off & the SD chip inside falls out.
[2016-12-16. : 1:36 pm]
IskatuMesk -- I do extremely demanding work on it, so the slowness of everything is extremely prohibitive
[2016-12-16. : 1:34 pm]
IskatuMesk -- my computer is now going on 8 years old. Not out of choice, though. I was using hardware 14 years old until somewhat recently
[2016-12-16. : 1:00 pm]
NudeRaider -- In other news I'm currently enjoying my Lauenstein truffle pralinés I got at the christmas party yesterday. I haven't easten something this delicious and well made in a looong time, if ever. WOW.
[2016-12-16. : 12:59 pm]
NudeRaider -- cya :)
[2016-12-16. : 12:59 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Well, time for me to go for now.
[2016-12-16. : 12:58 pm]
NudeRaider -- *negligible - wow one of the few world I will ALWAYS stumble over.
[2016-12-16. : 12:55 pm]
NudeRaider -- true. Instinctively I find it hard to believe that more than a neglibile number of people use computers that are over 10 years, but I must admit, that computers can be pretty enduring sometimes and that especially people with little demands or tech knowledge are probably gonna hold on to it until it actually breaks.
[2016-12-16. : 12:53 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Which would probably include at least some of Intel's latest CPUs before their Core architecture, if they could run it.
[2016-12-16. : 12:52 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Just about anything that can run Windows 10 can still be somewhat relevant if it can at least have 4 GB of RAM.
[2016-12-16. : 12:47 pm]
ShadowFlare -- At least for CPUs that support it.
[2016-12-16. : 12:47 pm]
ShadowFlare -- It's one of the features that helps prevent bugs from being exploitable (and has been supported since XP SP2).
[2016-12-16. : 12:46 pm]
NudeRaider -- Sounds like a decent reason for oppression for a change.
[2016-12-16. : 12:44 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Like the feature to mark memory pages as non-executable and enforce it at the CPU level so it won't run code from that memory.
[2016-12-16. : 12:43 pm]
ShadowFlare -- In the name of security they made certain CPU features be required.
[2016-12-16. : 12:42 pm]
ShadowFlare -- This is relevant even for 32-bit Windows 10 (or 8/8.1).
[2016-12-16. : 12:41 pm]
ShadowFlare -- For AMD, I think pretty much any of their 64-bit chips can run it.
[2016-12-16. : 12:41 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Even if fast enough.
[2016-12-16. : 12:40 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Pretty much anything before Intel's Core architecture can't run 10, I think.
[2016-12-16. : 12:40 pm]
NudeRaider -- k. But any i3/5/7 works with it and I doubt older CPUs will stay relevant for much longer after Win 7 support ends.
[2016-12-16. : 12:39 pm]
ShadowFlare -- More of a problem on the Intel side than AMD.
[2016-12-16. : 12:39 pm]
ShadowFlare -- *features
[2016-12-16. : 12:38 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Nope, there are key CPU feature 8 and higher require (actually, each one keeps adding a little more to the requirements).
[2016-12-16. : 12:37 pm]
NudeRaider -- afaik whatever runs 7 can run 10. Do correct me if I'm wrong tho.
[2016-12-16. : 12:37 pm]
ShadowFlare -- If MS doesn't support a new CPU on an older OS, it still has an upgrade path if it works on the latest version.
[2016-12-16. : 12:36 pm]
ShadowFlare -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: ShadowFlare its the other way around. The CPUs run pretty much any OS today. But MS will soon cancel the support for it on Win 7.
No, what I mentioned is relevant to what Moose said about Windows 7's eventual end of support, because the computers that don't have the CPU features required by Win8 and later have no upgrade path and will be stuck with Win7 and no support (assuming they are still on Windows).
[2016-12-16. : 12:34 pm]
NudeRaider -- SF I commend you to still hold on to your classyness you already had when it was a given on SEN. Pretty much anyone (including me) has fallen from grace in that regard.
[2016-12-16. : 12:28 pm]
ShadowFlare -- Yeah, this was 2008.
[2016-12-16. : 12:28 pm]
Moose -- Yeah. PfSense wasn't even one I considered, but you were probably looking at things long before I was.
[2016-12-16. : 12:27 pm]
ShadowFlare -- OpenWrt's UI was kind of bad at the time, but they've made it much better in recent years and I may switch to it someday.
[2016-12-16. : 12:26 pm]
NudeRaider -- ShadowFlare
ShadowFlare shouted: Mini Moose 2707 The worst part is the computers that can't even run anything newer than Win7 because the CPU doesn't support 8 or higher.
its the other way around. The CPUs run pretty much any OS today. But MS will soon cancel the support for it on Win 7.
[2016-12-16. : 12:26 pm]
Corbo -- *dies*
[2016-12-16. : 12:26 pm]
Corbo -- I said not per se dammit i made a mistake forgive my lifeeeee
[2016-12-16. : 12:25 pm]
Dem0n -- DAMN YO ITS COLD AF
[2016-12-16. : 12:25 pm]
Moose -- Corbo > WHAT'S FALSE: "Make Germany Great Again" was not a (campaign) slogan employed by Hitler > ok > Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler are far from the only politicians who promised to make their countries "great again." > not a thing I argued against because no shit
[2016-12-16. : 12:25 pm]
NudeRaider -- Mini Moose 2707
Mini Moose 2707 shouted: Well, ya, I just take Nude's minerals LMAO
not a shitty memer, sry :)
