lol. But chui, that's all there is to the new Diablo III. The way I see it, Blizzard knows that ppl will buy this final game no matter the stage of completeness. They're gonna make zillions the first day of it's release (which btw is next weekend) before the reviewers can write up how incomplete the game is. This is just money making genius.

All I remember is SC'ers hating WC'ers, hell, most of SEN actually plays or did play D2.

Basically I got 2 games on my "2-buy" list, Sc2, And D3 , Loved all the previous versions of both games.

Really? I always liked D2 more than Diablo1.

D2 can be more fun to play than D1, but D1's world is more haunting and immersive and maddening. Playing Diablo1 actually feels like visiting Adria the Witch for ancient tomes, or talking to Cain in the town square or running from Archbishops in the depths of Hell. The Tristram music is probably one of the best pieces of music ever composed for acoustic guitar. And who can ever forget the first time they met the butcher... AHHH... FRESH MEAT! ... so deliciously freakish. Spending too much time in those dungeons makes you feel the taint seeping in through your skin.

Amen. D1 was freeky as hell. that tristram tune was epic just gives you chills. D2 was hardly scary but i hope D3 is but i bet they'd build it more aimed for multiplayer. people just hack singleplayer anyway.

Well all I know is, I'm buying this once it comes out. Also gonna get SC2 / Wotlk as well =/ pretty much buying all games being released by blizzard sigh so much money being made.

I agree with some of ya that DIII looks better then SC2 right now. But we need to wait and see the final product once its released what it'll be like. Anyway till then I guess just gonna run around pvping on WoW.

Wow, I thoroughly agree here. I recall playing D1 as a young boy, and just stepping into the cathedral and having fallen and zombies run at me, scared me to death.

I seriously doubt I'll feel much emotion if ever I play this game. Only the nostalgia of DII's repetitive clicking and boredom. I'm not going to get this game, I'll play it at a friends house once and decide I was right about it.

And ugh I agree with most of you, the WoW phase has been long drawn out milked boring and terribly obnoxious.

I'm just hoping SCII won't be another WCIII.

Okay so I decided to read the whole topic for once and as soon as I noticed the "Did anyone else notice there were no giant purple monsters?" I knew I would have to quote it. They have about 4 monsters currently released, and did you notice that the Witch Doctor used purple? It is highly likely there will be atleast 1 Purple monster, and that's not bad, because monsters arn't real and they should have a look that fits them, if purple is a colour that would really emphasize a monster, then purple it must be.

I do not believe they will be releasing it anytime soon, but quite to the contrary I think that they have most of the Diablo III functionality down. You can select spells, cast spells, pick up items, equip items, there are item drops, you can move, the monsters can die, cast spells, move, fall off sides, interact with the surroundings and what not... much of what is left is making graphics for the monsters and customizing each monster, but most of the core functionalities will be inherited, so though it seems not too far, you could very well be wrong.

If you don't play WoW and don't visit WoW sites, then you hear no hype. I have in all this time of it being out only heard 1 group of people outside of the internet talking about it. Maybe you need to lay off the internet or something?

As I mentioned up there I somewhat agree, though I could be wrong, SCII has a lot less functions you could inhert from a root class and thus needs a lot more customization.

As I've once again already mentioned, core functions can be inherited, customization is what will be painful, adding monsters should be a lot easier then making what they've already got, and they probably already have a lot more done, just not showing it yet, remember, SCII has had a lot more time to show off what they've done, DIII can probably release a whole bunch of enemies, boss information, storlines, etc... in no time.

I recommend you play the other ones, but play D1 before D2 otherwise you may no longer like D1.

Both are very different, D1 was more going through dungeons with parties and killing monsters, D2 was about getting items, getting stronger then dueling, D1 has a better atmosphere but D2 has a faster action.


I agree with this but probably not the same point as you. I reckon all 3 games deserve their own look, Diablo II is based around prime evils and corruption, burning cathedrals and the whole package, Warcraft 3 is based off a fantasy world where at times it may be gloomy, but at other times you may be thriving and sunny, SC/SCII are more orientated around Space Domination, they deserve a more technological effect to them.
