Okay so it's been 6 years since i've last been on them, and I am at the point where walking isn't fast enough for me sometimes, so I got some blades. I figured i'd remember how to do it, and to some extent I do. My left leg isn't as strong as it used to be, but this will certainly help. However, a problem im finding is the breaks arn't slowing me down enough at the end of a hill. Anyone here know of any easy ways to slow down (aside from the obvious expose as much body surface for optimum wind resistance)? Keep in mind that my left leg isn't very strong at all.

Drag one of your skates behind you. If you get good enough you can make a sharp enough turn to just completely stop. That's how we always did it in hockey.

Just get some heelys. They actually are cruise control for cool.

got a lot better but only when the roads arn't very busy...
I am gonna practise for a few days before i start going to school.

I like skates, they're not very comfortable but the feeling of gliding along the road is good, skateboarding isn't the same meng.

either kinda do a slalom zig-zagy type thing when you're going down hill to slow down or lift one skate off the ground so youre on only one and with the other turn it perpendicular with your direction and slowly start touching it down to the ground, thats what i always did.

HItting things is probably the easiest way to slow down, however I recommend turning sharply like Nerdy said.

Well I am getting better, my friend says drag on foot behind me in a T shape which makes sense, but i kept feeling like i was gonna fall over, when it's dark and im skating next i'll practise stopping downhill. I'll probably go out for a spin tonight, im actually enjoying skating a lot... In the last like 2 and a half days of having them i've done about 6 hours of skating, which would be more but i had school and work and my girlfriends house ;)

Rollerblading has been dead and is gay. Aggresive Skating is underground. If you're going to T-stop you're going to have to rotate wheels, I doubt you have the tools for it, and then eventually buy new wheels.

T-stop is newb style. Turn stop is pro style. Also if you plan on doing much skating, get a set of fairly hard wheels (they last longer on asphalt), a good set of bearings, and a couple skate tools to change all that shit. Or you can just use the 'L' shaped tools, those are cheap and just as effective. Also, your bearings will get dirty as hell skating around outside, and if you don't keep them clean they'll start to lock up, so clean them. Vigorously.

I can do the hockey stop (kinda) but only when there's not much cars, otherwise I run the risk of dying...

Fear is what causes people to panic and then fall. You have to arch your body forward so you don't fall back.
