Merge the posts and reset minerals again

I just think we need to abandon the whole debt and buy-your-basic-features crap. Minerals should be for games, not fundamental site features.

WHAT IS YOUR REASONING FOR SUCH A CHANGE?

I think minerals should be from stuff useful for the site. Like wiki contributions, bug reports, DB uploads, reported posts, etc.

THEN it ought to have some role in site features.

most of such ideas for minerals are planned... cept db uploads because i don't want people spamming crap files in hopes to get minerals...

You're right, but he refered to it as a separate group, which is why I replied in that manner. If he's going to be a douche and say things along the lines of "we took you over, so you're now our slaves", then I wouldn't want him in any power.

When I was suggesting the name "Starcraft Editing Network" I actually had reasons.

• "Staredit Network" is specific to an obsolete map-making tool.
  
• "Maplantis" and "Staredit" are both specific to maps. Modding is just as, if not more popular currently.
  
• "Staredit Network" is specific to Starcraft one. Staredit is definately not anything close to what SC2 will use.
  
• We have the URL for "Starcraft Editing Network", and the current acronym "SEN" works even better.
  
• "Starcraft Editing Network" covers SC1, SC2, and both mapping and modding. It doesn't include things that aren't specific to what we do, like melee.

Afterall, you did change the motto from "Pushing Starcraft Maps to the Limit" to "Pushing Starcraft to the Limit".

Also, in response to a post on Maplantis which I don't have access to, I think there should be as few off topic forums as possible. I'm the kind of person who likes to quickly glance at one or two off topic forums, just to see if there's anything that might slightly interest me, rather than foraging through a large amount just for the possibility that there might be one thing that interests me. Afterall, this isn't actually a very large site. If we had about 1000 active users on average, then it might be reasonable to get a 3nd or 4rth.

EDIT: I forgot minerals. Basically, I think minerals are one of the worst things that ever happened to this site. They shouldn't be kept at all.

Laser, you completely forget the fact that Starcraft Editing Network sounds bad...

Fuck that, if the sites merge I'm redesigning a whole layout that incorporates features of both.

As for maplantis and staredit merging, I think it was a good idea. I visited both sites often, and I didn't particularly like one over the other (except maplantis's skin. That I liked).

Someone is making a maplantis skin either way... it might be me, yoshi, or us working together. I have to make some edits to make the things alternate column colors like maplantis did.
A skin on SEN isn't a true skin, and not too much HTML will change so it won't be maplantis-like perfectly. There was no way I was going to manage multiple html files, managing seperate CSS files and one php file is annoying enough.

God forbid we lose whatever spam was buried underneath a hundred days worth of more spam in favor of server speed. Archive it if you care that much, but I don't want it slow me down more and more as time goes to infinity.
