Sc2 mod for Sc1, is it possible?

I'm not a mod maker, but i've seen some incredible work done to starcraft 1.

Even the starcraft demo shareware was taken and done incredible things with it (there's an all units/building cloak mod, an increased range mod...)

My question is:

Is it possible to do some sort of sub-version of starcraft 2 on sc1? Obviously not everything could be included...the colossus ability to walk over cliffs...the 'cliff-jumper' units...although i don't know just how badass modders are about these things.

It came to me looking at this pic:

The command center's top reminded me of the cc's upgrade to weapons or scan.

So just how far could a mod like this go?

Doesn't seem like that got anywhere so I'm going to say that either will this one.

The question was "is it possible?" and the answer was yes, whether or not it will get done, would be a whole different question all together.

^ ^ ^
That looks terrible, half those units aren't even remotely close to the appearance of ones in SC2. Instead, take a look at this:

Download: http://up.kupatrix.com/f/111/Cutscene%20Universe.zip

It also has a couple more units not shown.

Id like to see how you guys can make an SCV build the Thor outside a building. I say impossible.

Relatively ancient and inactive

In most cases, buildings and units are interchangeable, so I don't see much of a problem there.

Buildable units have already been accomplished.

Of course it is possible but it's also more trouble and time than its probably worth. Blizzard won't take THAT long to release Starcraft II :D. But yea, I remember back when Warcraft III was coming out and Campaign Creations was hosting a Starcraft to War III TC which was actually pretty bad ass and then Blizzard shut them down :-(. It was a very sad day, the most updated version of it never got released but I spent hours playing the one that was released despite it only having two races and some bugs. I don't even think the main mod guy (I forget his name) has it anymore (the updated/not released one) as I looked him up on ICQ a few years after to ask about it.

I think Starcraft II will change so much that a mod for it on original Starcraft will be kinda pointless, let's just be patient and play the thousands of UMS games and other maps we have invented for Starcraft Brood-War and wait for SC II to actually come out so we can all upgrade our systems.

If anyone wants some awesome mods, I still have 24ish of them, but they all run on different versions and many are in the not quite complete stage. There are also some cool mod campaigns. Anyone remember the Starcraft Team Fortress Mod? That was probably the coolest one, commando style starcraft...heck yea!! It used to work on b.net too until some recent patches :flamer:.

They look convincing, but whats the point. SC-2 will have roughly the same amount of PLAYABLE units. But are we forgetting about the Xel'Naga? How will we place units for them? Explain to meh plz!

why do we need the xel-naga if they aren't a playable melee race?

This topic is full of fail. It's also funny to see people using my GRPs in a mod I've never heard of.

Custscene universe is full of decent graphics. Aqo can model very well, but he doesn't do anything else very good at all.

Actually, I found the Thor's missile barrage pretty neat, even if quite simple. He may not be the best modder in the world, but he isnt a bad modder at all.
