I have 2 screens connected to my computer. I wanted to know if it would be possible to have Starcraft in fullscreen on one screen and have my normal Windows desktop on the other. Is there a way to do this or is it impossible?

When I start up, I have the choice to select the monitor I want (I only have one, so it is greyed out) but because I see this, I assume you can. This is on a mac, but I assume it is in the Windows version as well, because I don't see them adding this feature specifically to mac version.

thats mac only, and not a feature of the game itself, but of the OS. Also if i put Starcraft on one screen, the resolution change messes up the other one.

Thigh high affectionado

Rightclick Starcraft.exe
Click Create shortcut
Rightclick the shortcut and click properties
Find Target "C:/Program Files/StarCraft/Starcraft.exe"
Put -w after it
Double click the exe

Try that >:D

Edit: Never mind I take it back, that one works for Diablo 2

This is most certainly not of the os, it is of sc.

Change the screen Resolution on both monitors to suit StarCraft's specs.
If your refresh rate is too low or high, one screen will switch to the other, then loop back and forth, back and forth... (you get the idea) until you terminate it's on-top status.

It may very well be, considering that SC is a low resolution full screen game. It would make no sense to try and split it up between two screens. Regardless, it's isn't an option in Windows.

Try this.

Simply extract all, then open DxWnd (Aka Direct X Windowed Mode, which allows you to window mode Direct X 7.0 and below applications), select StarCraft, and click run.

It should window mode it, and hopefully if its in a window (Which is hella good for taking movies), it wont change the other monitor.

Keep in mind that many bnet screens are quite broken in that.

Ease of multiple monitors is one pwning thing about Macs, and one thing Microsoft really messed up with.

I've had dual screens in windows for about 6 years now. With a few different graphics cards.
Back when i played starcraft I had dual screens too
It used to suck until they patched the problem with the window not containing the mouse.
Anyways pretty much all full screen games respond the same way. They load up on your primary screen. And if the resolution in the game is different than that of your game then other screen is many times shifted. If you are able to move the mouse out of the game area and click on the 2nd screen then doing so will minimize the fullscreen game, so its use is rather minimal. Except for keeping an eye on things like your IM conversations with your buddies.. Or using a internet page as reference in the game.

Any game with a true windowed mode with a re-sizable window can be put into a full-screen "windowed" mode. Sometimes the game will actually have an option for this, but if not then it is possible to have an external program that makes the window full-screen without a border. This pretty much solves the multi-monitor issue when it is available in a game. Some games where this is possible include Warcraft III (with a separate utility) and World of Warcraft (with an in-game option).

If you want to get crazy about it, just set your resolution on your primary screen to whatever starcraft is and run starcraft in window mode - it will fill up the whole screen and you'll be able to move your cursor over to the other screen without minimizing.

StarCraft can't run in windowed mode.

Yes it can. Two ways.
On Windows PC, there is an app you can DL. My friend uses it all the time.
On Mac, press CMD+M and it goes to windowed.

People have been able to run SC in windowed mode for years now. I dare say some people have always had a personal hack to run the game in windowed mode.

However it kinda sucks running it in windowed mode unless you're testing or mapping or something.
