We went back to the Butterfly Pavilion for our anniversary yesterday. The lighting was harsh for most of the day and the butterflies were very social. They kept landing on me or my boyfriend. 
I think my pictures from last time came out better than these ones did, overall. The focus isn't as good, the colors are harsh and I was unable to get some of the closeups like I like to. I think it's time for me to get a new lens for my camera but I'm unsure of where to start looking.

Not the clearest picture overall, but it looks like he's using his abdomen to balance while he's hanging upside down, and I thought that was cool.
The picture looks almost identical to one I took last time!

I realized I haven't updated this thread in almost two years despite actively taking photos still . I think I've plateued, given that I don't think my skill has gotten much better, but I still want to share what I've been doing.
The jewelry photos have been touched up, the other ones have not. The flower photos were taken today...if you want to see anymore from any of the 'sets' (butterfly, jewelry or flowers) let me know and I can add some more.
