You guys NEED to see the HoN updates. They did a lot of shit... Like gave Engineer Mines. Yes, as in the same Mines from DotA. Alot of other bs too, this is gonna be an interesting patch.

Scumbag S2: Says they want game to be more action and gank oriented.
Gives a hero sure-kill camping mines.

Stupid change. they shuda just changed tinker to make it work on more shit like it did before. Also, did anybody else notice that that now means that his keg will have a longer Cd and cost more mana? since tinker reduced both of those with levels. Even more of a reason why it was bad.

S2 should have put the mines on an entirely new Hero (Techies).

Then buff Tinker by giving it the utility of increasing power on his Turret - perhaps by removing the decrease in power of the turret.

But I've seen the mines be used in really neat baits, even in the middle of fights/chases.

No. Techies was shit. Another hero i hope S2 never ports. And while the idea of mines in itself is kinda cool, they should have an effect other than roflpwning you at a moments notice. Perhaps make it a single mine, that when detonated, stuns a large area or does a good deal of damage. That would actually be cool since it could be used to set up in teamfights.

His mines right now are just support-deterrents. They really are shit.

You don't value them enough. They deal a very respectable amount of damage to carries as well. The only things they don't work on are super-heavy tanks and magic-immune units.

But even if they are just support-deterrents, what is wrong with that?

Stack 4-6 mines right by the rune spot and that is like an auto kill. He reminds me of a better version of AP shaco.

Are mines invisible? Because I thought they were but I've also seen and killed them on occasion.

They shouldn't be invis for long imo. Like only 20s after placing them. If you just mindlessly place them somewhere just to wait someone eventually wanders over them to get insta killed is lame.

Because it takes away, once again, from an action-oriented game. Basically, instead of supports being able to run around and ward to set up easier ganks and teamfights, they have to sit in the lane doing nothing, or risk dying 4-5 extra times. It gives one team such a huge free movement advantage it's insane.

If Engi actually mines up an area, he's losig a ton of EXP and gold. I'd also rather play a strategy-oriented HoN instead of an action-oriented one. Not like you can't have both; Engi mines everywhere equates to having a counter strat, which may involve more in-lane pushing.

He'll break junglers and possibly trilanes, so we'll see.

Engi mines are a nerf. He's far too mana dependent now. Mines are gimmicky and just annoying, and they make him weak as hell in early game.

They also way nerfed his late game, and support potential, by taking away the cooldown reductions from tinker and changing the ulti to a static magic dps instead of a percent.

So basically he's just a mine gimmick now.
