Just here for the pie

ONE HOUR MAPMAKING CONTEST

  • Contest will begin in the USEast channel "Op lil-Inferno" once people show up.
  • No signups - show up in channel Op lil-Inferno and map for 1 hour with the rest of us.
  • Maps must be started afresh at that time.
  • Terrain and triggers cannot be copied from another map.
  • 1 hour maps will be attached in here at the end.
  • Bring your lawn chairs.

Parameters:
Map size: Any
Tileset: Any
Genre: Any
Theme: Any
Reward: Glory, women (or men if that's your thing), praise
Judging: None (maybe)

Why?:
The reason one hour map contests are good is not to make a good map, but to bring new ideas and concepts to the table. Almost always I find myself modifying and tweaking my one hour maps to perfection after the contest is up. Plus, some maps actually turn out to be somewhat awesome and fun. SO JOIN.

I order you to forgive yourself!

Here is what I have made: http://www.staredit.net/?file=2363
I believe it is fun, but it may be too easy or too hard. (Depending on how you start.)

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

I'd say Apos wins. :)

OVERWATCH STATUS GO

I'm at work, so no. :-_-:

Besides, I'd probably just make Helen Keller RPG 3 (as I did 1 and 2 for prior contests :awesome: ).

Pretty sure it's over by now. They're probably all playing their maps. I unfortunately had to go because my dumbass little brother had to "do homework" (he's playing WoW right now and my parents are oblivious to this fact).

Know what? There should be a "huge contest" called on the front page, with a relatively big prize, which would be called something like "SC1: Nostalgia".
It'd be a great call for all the SEN members to actually get to do a little thing. I believe a lot of the members still lurking around here never submitted even one single map.
It could turn out to be a really nice and friendly contest. :3

I'd definitely participate.

Note: The idea here really is to actually try to get everyone to submit something, even the most ridiculously crappy map ever made.
It'd be a nice little peek of mapping activity.

Oh me and my megalomutopian ideas. T_T

Vrael -- It is, and I could definitely use a company with a commitment to flexibility, quality, and customer satisfaction to provide effective solutions to dampness and humidity in my urban environment.

Vrael shouted: Idk, I was looking more for a dehumidifer company which maybe stands out as a beacon of relief amidst damp and unpredictable climates of bustling metropolises. Not sure Amazon qualifies
sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
[06:50 pm]
Vrael -- Maybe here on the StarEdit Network I could look through the Forums for some Introductions to people who care about the Topics of Dehumidifiers and Carpet Cleaning?

Vrael -- Perhaps even here I on the StarEdit Network I could look for some Introductions.

beats me, but I'd make sure to pick the epitome of excellence and nothing less.
[06:41 pm]
Vrael -- It seems like I may need Introductions to multiple companies for the Topics that I care deeply about, even as early as Today, 6:03 am.
