Not really. Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece are the "Big Three" of shounen manga in Japan.

Thats weird. I figured with the fan service and varying japanese plots, Naurto wouldn't be as popular since they would be interested in more things. Over here Naruto is pretty much a monopoly. All american animation is based on the usual shit where every character is a tough guy, all character never play by the rules, all the characters always succeed, and the whole point of the show is the character saving the entire universe.

I remember when western shows were decent and weren't about a teenage boy with powers.

Megas XLR deserves a mention. Show of the year all years.

And I hate them all :ego:
Naruto was somewhat decent in the beginning. Of course this view may have changed drastically as I was 15-16 when I used to watch it and it was the first anime I watched (not including Norwegian dubbed Pokémon). Same goes for Bleach really, though I dropped it after less episodes than Naruto. Never even bothered with One Piece.
Seinen ftw :awesome:

Death Note andSpice and Wolf fall into two unique catigories (In a way, they are both alike).

The two best anime shows of this era...

Wait what is being discussed here again? The quality of the animation? Like how smooth the 'drawings' are or just the most popular overall best "anime/animation" ?

its more of a discussion of the art and in-depth stories. i.e. use Miyazaki as the standard.

We wouldnt consider Naruto or Bleach due to their unending story and repetative art form.

Well their is also some non movie related things being discussed so it's Japanese animation in general amirite?

Anyways, so the other day I was reading that all these big figures in japanese animation were declaring Anime dead because they say it's all fan service and sick shit. Miyazaki was one of the people who said Anime was dead so eh.

Let's talk about fan service k thx

Not as extreme as this and maybe it's a coincidence but a lot of anime I've seen have some sort of fan service. Subtle but still there. Just me?

oops sorry, my bad :C

Kodomo no Kikan
-fan service and sick shit
-characters
-funny noses

Hellsing Ultimate
-violence

If you ask me, anime needs a dose of post-modern/contemporary content. Another trip into the realm of FLCL, NGE, Akira (I vaguely remember watching this when I was very young, but I thought it was pretty terrifying back then), etc. would do well to quell "fan service and sick shit".
But, I know next to nothing about anime in general, so remember your salt shaker. :>

reminds me of this:

anime is all the same shit. There's a fight scene stolen directly from cowboy bepop placed into naruto. Bakemonowhatever looks exactly like K-on.

I don't particularly mind one piece, it's just slow as hell. It's definitely the best of the 3 IMO. I haven't seen naruto, but bleach is gay enough for me to not want to watch it.

I really need to disagree with you. There is a vast realm of difference between them. :P

as I read that, your yukari sig pops up...

I'm mistaken. There's some anime which has a yui look-alike in it, and I can't remember what it is. I don't think it's hetalia, but I just don't remember.
