In my map, Forsaken, the EUD for attack cooldown detection works for a couple of games, then in the middle of a game it just stopped working and it doesn't work anymore for subsequent games. I think the file got corrupt or something, but I don't know why.

Ok, so it seems to work for 8 attacks then it completely stops working for that game and any subsequent games.

Either the original assumption of the high-order bytes being constant 0 is incorrect (for which there is no fix except having 256 triggers for each application), or the unit in question's index number is changing due to random map circumstances.

I don't think the index number is changing, because after it stops working, everytime I play the map it never works again.
If this problem can't be fixed, I guess I'll just have to settle for less.

The sprites in your map shift the unit indices. I don't know any details such as if all sprites do or by how much, however after deleting all the sprites in your map it seems to work.

In the future stickynote, it would be wise to learn how to look at artmoney/cheatengine's memory editor. You can open up the area that cooldown is, then see what's changing as you attack based on the address you're reading in your trigger. That way you can see exactly what you're trying to read.

If you don't like memory editors, you can also use leaderboard kills to display a particular dword (like cooldown) on the leaderboard itself, so long as the EUD doesn't use players 9-12 (who don't show up on the leaderboard). Add 228 to the normal EUD. Note this is EUD, not EPD, which is 10x easier and what the memory condition uses.

Actually, I still don't know why it stopped after eight attacks, but I think it was because I had 8 unit sprites on the map. It works fine now though.
