jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/chrome/en-US.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.propertiessys.

Theirs a 40% chance that I'll get this when ever i try to move from one page to another on Fire fox. I click my bookmark to go on SEN, Bam it says it can't find file Jar.file etc etc. I button smash my SEN bookmark a couple of times and it works. It seems like if i get this problem I have to bruteforce my way through it but why does it happen in the first place? It's going to suck when i write a huge post and just as i press reply FF tells me that it couldn't find the jar file or w/e and I'm sitting there with 2 minutes of my time lost forever. It's tedious.

I order you to forgive yourself!

Good habit that I got (And probably a lot of people): Copy paste your post into Notepad before sending it.

This is usually caused by add-ons or tool bars. If you have the Ask Toolbar, uninstall it. Since a lot of people have trouble completely removing it, it is also recommended you delete this file: "C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\018msq74.default\searchplugins\ask.xml"

Get chrome, or actually, when I think about it, opera should be faster if you have dialup.

Relatively ancient and inactive

I believe opera has a system of sending all the data you search with through a server. The server receives the page from, for example, SEN, and compresses it in a special opera format before sending it to you.

It's known as Opera Turbo. http://www.opera.com/browser/turbo/

Gotta admit, Opera did an impressive move there, of course, if you already have a fast connection, I'd still stick with Firefox for the plugins, although Chrome is getting closer and closer to beating it with its own plugin system.

Are you certain that this isn't a virus or anything like that? Getting your browsing rerouted to a Java file sounds pretty suspicious to me, have you tried running something like ComboFix?

JAR isn't just Java, it's also an archive format. Actually, it's identical to ZIP. Rename a Firefox JAR to ZIP and you can crack that sucker open with Windows XP.

Nearly all of Firefox's default GUI is stored in such JARs, lending merit to the "an add-on assraped your browser" theory.

Opera Turbo is also a makeshift proxy.
