I thought it was a fairly interesting question. What should humanity aspire to? Utopia? Drug-induced happiness for all? Control of what can be controlled?

Develop your topic at least a bit more. Sure, this is null, but if you want a better discussion, you need to start with a better first post.

I'd develop it more, but I have no idea what I think so far. I'm thinking drug-induced happiness (matrix-style) followed by purposeful mass killings to stop any more pain, but though rationally plausible, it seems too inhuman for me to agree with it wholeheartedly.

Also, JaFF, I'm asking not what a person should aspire to, but what humanity should aspire to. What are we progressing technologically for, etc. Where should we stop, should we stop, what should humanity end up doing? Love doesn't seem to fit entirely.

The thought which I had previously come to, not necessarily as how something "should" progress but as under ideal circumstances it would, is eventual elimination of any pain or discomfort through knowledge, self-engineering and technology, at which point they [a hypothetical sentient species, not necessarily humanity] essentially don't have any purpose and don't have much more function than rocks, at which point they die out on their own.
This idea seems more realistic, though, and as a hedonist, the only extent to which I disagree with it is that I haven't actually thought about it for long.

We should aspire to culture, devote ourselves and accept ourselves with the culture we belong to. This will also turn us into a more civilized humanity and hopefully reduce violence overall, dedicating to cultural activies would keep humanity busy, more knowledgeable people, blah blah blah

I always imagined living in a Mass Effect universe would be cool, so I guess we should aspire to some sort of interstellar space travel and mingling with alien species. Though I could do without the Reapers and Saren though.

Edit: or, hopefully, we can all become atheists.
